Cloudy pale orange with a dense rocky white head. Dried orange peel and coriander in the aroma and flavour. Seems the coriander is more dominant in the aroma. Refreshingly crisp and smooth at the same time, dry malt character in the back with grainy tones and nuttiness from the yeast. Spices add some sweetness, coriander is the one that flexes the most. Smooth and rounded grainy flavour helps in the finish. A good and balanced white ale.

Presentation: 11oz short-n-stubby brown bottle. That crazy owl mocks me. Why, owl? Why?
Appearance: There's yeast ... so this baby pours a cloudy straw-coloured beer with a creamy white head. There's also ample stick and an equal covering lace.
Smell: Major clove/ginger aromas that pretty much stifle everything else.
Taste: Ultra-creamy on the palate and light-bodied, actually a very uplifting beer -- that palate literally fills up with creamy beer goodness. Grainy malt characters kick things off and are quickly replaced by a highly refreshing citrusy/orange hop snap and a spicy ginger/clove/coriander character that is relentless. Pepper flavours are also evident, and dominate with the rest. No real sweetness, but there's some dextrin kicking about, especially as a body builder. Finish is dry, with loads of clove afters.
Notes: This is one hell of a unique and outstanding beer! The flavours scramble the shit out of the palate and there's so much depth to this beer that you need an oxygen tank and a slow rise to reality to avoid failing to the bends. Orange? Clove? All these wonderful flavours ... this is all blissful. I'm calm, collective and at one with the universe. This is more of a Wit than most traditional Belgians ... oh, and it's from Japan. Purchase this beer now.

Bottle poured into a goblet at a HUB in Kichijoji, Tokyo.
A: Very cloudy and light colored, not much of a head.
S: Citrus, hops, orange, slight banana, malts.
T: Very interesting, starts out with heavy citrus/floral favors, followed a a fairly strong hop bite, and finishes with malts and something very tasty that I couldn't quite place possible the coriander.
M: Creamy and a slight hop burn.
O: Great beer, very interesting tastes that I don't usually run into. A great change of pace from your everyday American beers.

Dull yellow glow with 2 fingers of bright white head. Not nearly as much head as one would expect from a wit. lots of ginger and nutty yeast on the nose, dry grain husks, and a bit of citrus fruit.
Creamy body with initial sweetness on the tip of the tongue. Bright fizziness throughout, super super dry wit. lots of ginger with other spicey flavor including clove. Subtle orange flavors with dry grains, faint tart flavor along the mid palate cut but the most delicate hop balance. Finishes dry and smooth. A really good and unique wit, never had one like it before with layers of complex flavors that blend together really well. Yeast imparts a lot to the flavor but only by complimenting the already existing ones in the beer.
a little pricey but damn good and super unique.

Wow. We have here a pale-looking appearance, yet pretty golden for a Witbier, hazy with a white, creamy neck. The aroma emanates oranges, honey, coriander seeds, peper and herbs (more of those than the similarly-wonderful Allagash White).
The flavor brings up the pepper, an expressive orange juice (one of the ingredients here), and a little bit of honey. The body is light, super-refreshing, with a great carbonation. Amazing, wonderful Witbier.

This was a great beer that had a 1 finger head that poured into a pint with good lacing.
Smell was spiced nicely with sweet smells.
Taste was unique to say the least and left a pleasant after taste.
Overall this beer was a pleasant beer found on a great trip to Chicago over 6 years ago that leaves me returning to Kiuchi Brewery beers every chance I can.
