Thomas Hooker American Pale Ale is an extremely vivid, medium-bodied brew. Hooker Pale Ale stresses the crisp bitterness, lingering resin flavor, and aroma of American hops which are characteristic of the most distinctive West Coast Ales. The caramel sweetness of the malt balances the chock-full-of-hops flavor to yield a complex but quite refreshing brew.

Poured into a becher pint glass.
The appearance was a mild copper color with a fair finger's worth of white foamy head softly dissolving. Some messy lace, here and there.
The aroma had some grassy to resinous hops. Light citrus rind. Bready to biscuity malt.
The flavor mildly leads with some sweet hops. Moderate aftertaste of sweet and bitter citrusy hops and bready malts.
The mouthfeel was almost medium bodied, good sessionability. Carbonation felt good. ABV felt on par. Crisp yet smooth malty to hoppy finish.
Overall, it's mostly easy drinking and not bad.

Poured from a brown 12 oz. bottle. Has a deep golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is very mild, a touch of hops. Taste is well balanced hops and malts, a touch of pine, very easy drinking. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a nice thirst quenching beer on a hot day.

I recently found this in the singles section at Country Garden Six Pack here in Lancaster, PA and I was curious to try it despite the "Born On" date being a smeary mess that reveals nothing. Given its low scores, it may not matter. As always, I will try to be as fair as possible.
From the bottle: "Troutbrook Brewing Company"; "Crisp Hop Flavor"; "Our True American Pale Ale"; "Connecticut's Beer".
My pour netted me just over a finger of tawny head with poor retention, falling quicker than I could type. Color was a slightly hazy deep-amber. Nose had a pleasant grassiness, which was reasonable for the style. Mouthfeel was on the thin side, not quite watery, but not much above it, either. The taste was of grassy hops, albeit muted. Finish was semi-dry with the malt negating the hops on the finish. It was not that it was bad, per se, but it was really lacking for the style. I have had MUCH better APAs and would steer others away from this punchless example.

A: Nice cloudy light amber coloring with about a fingers worth of head dissipates to very minimal patches scattered across the top and around the rim.
S: Not very aromatic, but catching some bready biscuit malts with some grain and a floral hop scent.
T: Some of that biscuit malt right up front, leading right into a piney citrus hops flavor and bitterness. Not alot going on here just biscuit and hops bitterness with some citrus. kind of expected more.
M: Moderate carbonation works with the bitterness but left with a dry, almost puckered feeling on the tongue and roof of my mouth. Not a fan.
O: Was kind of expecting more with the APA style. Lacked on all fronts with exception to the appearance, however they even lacked a decent amount of head.
