Bottle pours a clear golden colour with minimal head and no lacing. Aroma was almost overwhelmingly of the proverbial “cat urine” or rotten melon after the initial pour, but has dissipated in the last 10 minutes and now offers a much more pleasant tropical fruit with a resiny background.

Flavour is much better balanced, with mango, pineapple and other tropical fruits combined with tangerine and other citrus elements, plus the pine resin backbone. There is enough malted barley to fill out the body nicely. The high ABV is scarily well hidden and the finish lingers with an abject bitterness for an impressive length of time...

Definitely not a “session ale”, but a beer I would recommend to any hop lover and one I would purchase again.

Poured into an oversized tulip.

This is a clear, bright, copper colored brew with a whitish, finger-thick dense head that leaves some very nice lacing.

Smells of citrus. Tangerine, pink grapefruit and some orange. Also get a whiff of some piney resin.

Tastes of bitter hops that are somewhat less pronounced that I had expected, but the citrus hops - grapefruit, tangerine and orange make their presence known and there is a nice resinous pine finish with some nice spice in there as well. The caramel malt keeps things in check.

Medium mouthfeel, great carbonation. Bites.

Overall, I am loving this - Troegs has never disappointed. Local!

Pours a clear golden orange with a one finger frothy head.

Smells of grapefruit citrus and caramel hops. Very pleasant, fresh, and inviting.

Tastes is nicely balanced between the bitter hoppy citric herbal peppery notes and the malts. The malts come in with a more caramelized brown sugar and slightly burnt toffee.

Mouthfeel is moderately carbonated and slightly viscus. It's the perfect blend for the abv. I always like when the mouthfeel denotes the abv. This ones still very drinkable.

Overall, this is a beautiful ipa that leaves great lacing, smells inviting and has a taste to back it up. I would get this again in bottle and I would love to try it on draft.
