Pours a nice pale golden color with a white head. In the aroma I can already tell that it is hoppier than a standard pilsner. In the taste, it has hops and a balanced profile that is not standard with pilsners. This is a fantastic beer for summer, light, hoppy and just great. Anyone that likes IPAs with love this beer.

Pours clear and sweet yellow with a faint head that fell immediately to a few big bubbles and a film on top. Nice lace. Delicious pilsner nose. First a little yeasty bite with a hint of sour, then lemon and grass. Fruity, earthy and herbal. Bready, cracker malt brings it home. Taste is so well done. Thin malt sweetness and juicy lemon with light lemon peel wash over the palate effortlessly. Earthy, round and floral. The malt has perfect balance alongside the tart fruit. The pale grain and wheat take over on the back palate for a thirst quenching dryness and the hops come up for a shy bitter that lingers just until your next sip. Fantastic and floral as it fills up your senses in the aftertaste. Ample carbonation and a thin body.

Troegs never fails to delight. This is a substantial summer beer that made the most of the minimal and simple aspects of a pils and came up with a beer that was feather light on palate. It had plenty of character and was delicate yet firm. Simple and easy to drink. Before you know it you will have had 2 or 3 of these.

I bought this discount of old beers. Bottled 4/23/12.

The beer pours out in a beautiful rich gold with a big fluffy white head.

The aroma is straight pilsner. Grassy and lemon hops with some cracker and bready malt. Very vibrant and good aroma for an older beer.

The flavor does not follow as much on the aroma. Still good though. There’s some grassiness, pine, lemon. There’s a good body of round mouthfeel malts and then the bitterness kicks in. The middle is a bit empty, but then it’s actually quite long and bittering.

The beer does this wonderful amount of bitterness where you want to keep drinking it because it cuts out slowly and has a beautiful body.

I’m surprised by this, despite how old it was. Fantastic beer. One of my favorite American pilsners.

A: Pours a clear straw yellow color with slightly less than a fingers worth of head that settles down to barely more than a thin cap

S: Fairly clean yeast, light fruitiness, and a touch of spicy and earthy hops

T: Again, fairly clean with fruitiness to start off and then goes into a good amount of earthy and spicy hops. Finishes clean with a mild hoppy finish

M: Light-medium bodied with moderate carbonation

O: A good example of an American brewed German pils with a decent amount of hoppiness. Easy to drink at 4.5% and good for those who enjoy lagers

The beer was poured cold and moisture condensed on the glass but it is crystal clear and of a solid straw yellow. The head was almost a finger full and I poured it a bit aggressive but then it faded to just a thin ring around the glass but if you agitate the beer to get aroma, the head returns and leaves nice lacing.

The aroma is mellow and of pale malt sweetness and yeast, some grain a bit of lemon and very faint herbal hop aroma. It is refreshing!

It starts off tasting thinly malt sweet with a grassy earthy bitterness on top, some grain and yeast amid mild lemon and a licorice-like feeling of spicy numbness on the tongue which really become more present as the beer warms. It finishes peppery and mild to moderately bitter.

I think the mouthfeel is thin to medium bodied with a mild sweetness that vanishes at the end, which is pretty cool! There is a mild peppery feel that is accentuated by the slightly above moderate carbonation. Also a slick feel on the tongue.

Overall, this is an excellent summer beer! It is much less hoppy than the Neshaminy Creek Pils that I had last night and I would have to say mild for it's style as well as a bit thin making this an awesome beer for a camping trip if it were in a can! I'm sure it's equally as nice on tap! I recommend this beer and think pretty highly of it! I'm going to score it in the very high 3's or better!
