12oz. bottle poured into a pint glass. - Originally consumed directly from bottle, which resulted in a less-than-pleasant experience. Re-reviewing based on latest session.
A: Pours a nice slightly hazy honey-golden color, with a huge rocky and frothy slightly off-white head. Moderate amounts of carbonation bubbles rise quicky, maintaining a frothy cap that leaves a nice amount of sticky lacing all down the glass. Nothing bad in this department, but nothing great enough to warrant a higher rating.
S: Vivid aroma of a hoppy and grapefruit melody, with some underlying malt sweetness that seeps through to balance out the overall floral characters. Not much else going on here, but that's to be expected. This brew offers enough aromatics for the style.
T: A huge initial rush of hop and grapefruit bitterness that almost immediately gets cut down a notch by some malty sweetness and earthy notes that really help to balance out the flavors. The bitterness makes a mild comeback towards the end before finishing off with a wave of floral hops. The aftertaste is flowery and semi-sweet.
M: A lightweight body with crisp, mild carbonation and a slightly smooth texture make this one quite drinkable. The relatively low ABV makes it a decent session brew.
O: While APAs are admittedly not my favorite style, I found this one to be very drinkable on my most recent session with it. This one is hoppy enough to give it a nice bitter bite, but its rounded off well with some malty sweetness so it's not too palette-busting. An overall decent choice that's widely available in my area. I might go back to this one in the future, solely for its easy-drinking qualities.

12/31/12
bottle to pint glass.
Sampling of 4 troegs beers on New Years Eve.
AROMA: Light piney Hops. Grass, Barley.
LOOK: Dark Yellow
TASTE: Stale, grains, grass or hay. Not great. Strong alcohol taste for a plain old Pale Ale.
FEEL: light to meduim body, flat.
