I have been here multiple times in the summer/fall months and not during skiing season. This is a pretty cool place, it has the look of a lodge, with outdoor seating available. The food is good if not a little on the pricey side. The bar is really nice and is a good size.A full bar is available with a really outstanding bourbon selection. The beer is good and above average in my opinion, lots of variety and tasting flights are available and are presented in a really nice way. The beer prices were ok and the servers are generally ok with getting you an extra sample if its hard to make a choice. This place tends to get very busy during peak hours (even during the off-season) so plan accordingly since the wait times can be long.
Overall, I enjoy going to Elicottville Brewing Co. on occasion and would recommend it.

I have stopped in here several times over the years but never reviewed it...until now.
A: The atmosphere of the place is decent, somewhat rustic look but not dumpy. The place has a feel more of a gastropub than your typical bar atmosphere.
Q: The beers on tap are mostly decent, nothing that will bore you or disappoint, especially after hitting the slopes.
S: The service in EBC was decent, they didnt cater to my every need but didnt ignore either. On this day, the ski slopes have only been open for two days and it is raining outside, so the place was slow.
S: The selection is really good, they had 15 different in house beers on tap and a wide array of styles from their Pale, Winter White, Rye PA, Black IPA, Belgian Abbey, 2 Cuvee Styles, Nut Brown, Imperial IPA, Stout, Blueberry, Chocolate Cherry Stout, etc.
I did not try any food this time.
The value is decent as two pints cost me 10 bucks for two seasonals.
Ellicottville is a small ski resort town with 2 ski resorts, located about an hour south of Buffalo

Stopped by for dinner while visiting my grandparents, who live nearby. I didn't even know a town like Ellicottville existed, much less an above average brewpub!
Ellicottville is probably the best resort town in Western NY, very popular with skiers but also busy in the off-season with plenty of things to do and a decent downtown. One of the draws is Ellicottville Brewing Company (EBC), which is located on a stretch of shops and other restaurants. We grabbed a seat in the beer garden, which sat as many people as the indoor area. My wife and 2 year old were along as well, and the waitress brought some crayons and a few toys for my daughter to play with. It was very family friendly - probably 75% of the people there had kids under 10.
The food was okay - my salmon was a little dry but the kobe burger was pretty decent...well cooked. We were surprised at the menu...not your typical brewpub menu...lots of good options.
The beer selection was fantastic - my wife and I were able to try everything by ordering a flight of the "regulars" and a flight of the seasonals/limited. 14 beers total, most being quite good and a surprisingly good blueberry wheat beer that is also bottled. This is a great place in a hidden gem of a town. EBC has been around since 1995, so you know they have been doing great things and will be a permanent fixture for years to come.

Traveled to western NY last weekend and stayed in Ellicottville, NY. It's a ski resort when there's snow on the ground, but summer offers some pretty nice deals on a place to stay in a pretty green and hilly (and often rainy) part of the country.
Ellicottville Brewing Company offers a nice mix of year round drafts and seasonals, all brewed on the very centrally located and prominently displayed copper kettles. Both food and beer selections range from pretty pedestrian goods to more adventurous options. All of our group's samplings were well made, the Black Hops Black IPA being particularly enjoyable. Recommended if you're in the area, or are passing by exit 17 (Route 394) on the Southern Tier Expressway (I-86) and don't mind going 20 minutes out of your way.

The Fredonia location of EBC is a great place to grab a bit and a great brew. I liked the use of the dark wood in the restaurant and bar areas and the the balcony that we ate on was very pleasant. The brews and the food were both fantastic and reasonably priced.
My gripe with this place is the service. We went to this establishment to celebrate the end of our graduate classes for the summer at about 11:30AM and it took us forever to be seated, even though there was only one other group there. Placing our orders and getting out food was excruciatingly slow and one of my friends received cold soup that was re-warmed after a nasty display of attitude that was displayed by our server, who happened to be the manager. Upon agreeing to wrap her soup, he brought back two styrophome coffee cups with lids! After speaking with him in private, he comped her meal but was being pissy the whole time.
So if your looking for great food and beer, this isa very nice place to go and I've heard that the other people that work their are fantastic. Just be weary if you happen to get this man as a server.

i live about an hour from this place and in the winter whenever i go snowboarding, i stop here afterwards as it is located just down the street from the nicest ski resort in western new york. its a really tiny place located in a quaint little street. the first time i went there, as i was walking up i thought there was no way there would be room in there for a brewery, btut to my surprise the brewery part of the bar, which is right in the open to see with no glass or anything, is pretty decently sized. it has a very nice small town small pub atmosphere, everyone is very friendly and usually just got done skiing. all of the servers know quite a lot about there products and the food, although not a huge selection and a little pricey is top notch. the selection of beers is fairly decent as well. they are always making something new and interesting when ever i visit, from a chocolate cherry russian imperial stount to a oak aged strong ale for their 13th anniversery. they offer a lot of big special beers that come and go, as well as a few flagship beers which the bottle and distribute somewhat locally. the only thing i didnt like is that ive never heard of them making an IPA, which is one of my favorite styles, but they realease a few imperial pale ales in bombers every once in a while. this place is definately worth a visit if you are in the southern tier region. the small town location really makes this place a nice little secret amongst locals. good beer, great food!

I stopped in here over the weekend and was quite delighted with my experience. The bar was packed and full of people looking to have a good time. It was well lit and clean with a prfessional atmosphere. The beer selection was nothing special; your typical brewpub lineup. They also had bottled beer to go in bombers and sixpacks.
The service was good; although not the friendliest. The bartender did a nice job and was helpful with information. The food was great. It had some loaded pub fries and the shepard's pie. Everything was top notch. My friends and I engaged a local in some beer talk that was very helpful and enjoyable. I would come here again for sure; especially during ski season.

A little over an hour from Buffalo. Well worth the drive. The beer garden is a nice relaxing place to eat and drink. If the weather is not cooperating, then eat inside the atmosphere is great too. I was there at th lunch hour and the service was quick, and friendly. Not the largest menu, but the food was very good.I only had the chance to try the Two Brothers Ale,and it was really good.I wish they would start botteling more of their brews! The Ellicottville Brewing Co Brew Pub is highly recommend.

Heading back to visit my parents in a small town near there, I had expected that I would have to slum it with Bud or something when I stumbled upon this place. Located a stone's throw from the Holiday Valley ski area, Ellicottville Brewing was a nice surprise. The atmosphere was warm and inviting and the 10% Imperial IPA made it even warmer.
The food was great and unlike many brewpubs, it went past just the usual pub grub. I tried a steak sandwich with caramelized onions on grill ciabatta bread. Outstanding and the plate was loaded with enough fries for two people. The food was a bit pricey, but to be expected in a ski resort town. I left with a 2.5 liter gothic-looking German growler filled with the nut-brown ale, which was a nice parting gift. If you find yourself in Western NY, its definitely worth the trip.

My family and I hit up the Ellicottville location on the way back to Buffalo from PA. It was midafternoon, so the place wasn't busy, but since E-Ville is a Ski town, there were a few people hanging out and refilling growlers, etc. Server was knowledgeable about beer and friendly -- she suggested a place to get my son some ice cream since they don't have any on the menu. Food was reasonably priced and tasty. We had soup and some excellent waffle-cut fries. Beer-wise, I had a pint of the Two Brothers Pale Ale, and my partner tried the 10.5% abv Imperial Pale Ale. Both were great -- we left with a growler of the Two Brothers, only $11, not too bad IMO. Hard to tell how frequently the beer selection rotates since the taps are connected directly to the tanks. Didn't ask if they carry any other bottled selections. Nice place, family friendly. High recommendation.
