Eye Candy: Dark amber with garnett red edges. Pretty in the sunlight. Off white head, good retention and lacing.
The Nose Knows: Clean and crisp. Nothing too complex, sweet malts dominate.
Tongueland: Sweet malt, touch of chocolate, honey, and caramel. No hops to be found. A tad too sweet, but this makes it very drinkable.
Bender Factor: Went down a little to smooth. Dangerously drinkable.

A New York State beer that's very similar to Saranac Pale Ale. This beer has more if a subtle sweet malty taste to it. Fans of Saranac would not be disappointed, but fans of EBC might be expecting a bit more. I know I expected more based on the name and the red appearance. Still a fairly full flavor. A bitter hop taste with a slight citrus feel. Depends on your preference.

had this one on tap the last visit to EBC. i wasnt expecting much from this beer as it was almost the last one that i havent tried yet. just because it did not seem all to appealing to me. but boy was i surprised, i really enjoyed this one. the color was a very nice deep red color. the red was definately noticable. it had a little bit of head that faded to a nice ring of foam quickly. not much lacing to speak of. the smell was a real nice hoppy bittersweet aroma. quite nice. the taste was actually pretty hoppy. it said on the menu it was only 20 IBU, but it tasted like much more. i believe they used amarillo in this one. it had some nice sweet tasting malts as well, maybe even a little citrus. fairly light body too it and maybe just a tad too much carbonation, but still very nice. i would recommend this one over several others at the brewery. it is definately worth seeking out, although i dont think they bottle this one, i could be wrong about that cause it is definately one of there everyday beers.

Appearance- The body is a deep red hued but I would say for the most part it is amber. The body is not bad but there is no real head or lace.
Smell- Very nice roasted aroma.
Taste- It has an average hop bitterness that is just a little more present than the malt which is somewhat wood like.
Mouthfeel- Sticky but at the same point a little thin.
Drinkability- It wasn't bad but it is not my favorite from this brewer.

nice ruby redish color with lively, Thick off white head. Some Aroma of American Hops. Body Medium, sticks on your toungue not your lips. Slight flavor of citrus, maybee from hops? Overall a pretty decent beer, a bit reminicent of a ruby colored american pale ale.

Had on tap today in Ellicottville, poured a mdeium to deep amber with a thinner but well retained slight off white head.Toasty aromas with a touch of caramel malt maybe a touch of honey,I like the flavors going on here starts out very toasty a slightly sweet mainly caramel with that hint of honey,a very nice herbal sharpness hits thru in the finish making for a very well rounded and quaffing brew.I like EBC's take on an alt beer very well balanced and food friendly.

This brew was a very clear and dark red with a thin crown, light lace, ring and cling.
The carbonation is limited and the body full.
The nose is clear and crisp.
The taste is that of a light well balanced brew with a slight hop edge to end and linger.
This is a nice smooth and easy drinking ale.

This is a decent beer, but nothing special. Appears a light red color, tawny brown tints and a small tan head. Smell and taste are both lacking a bit. A decent toasty malt base is there with some sweet grainy flavors, but overall it's a bit bland. A nice subtle nutty flavor though. A tad watery in the mouthfeel. Not a bad beer by any means, but I was looking for something a little more robust.
