Had at two brothers in warrenville... this place is hidden in a remote location no joke.
Draft only, no growlers, limited tapping 12/24
Delicious, had a small snifter, poured deep black with tan 1 finger head w/ rosey tint added. Taste was nice roasty, bittersweet chocolate and a nice tart finish,it wasn't really to sweet to me as it was my first beer of the day, was actually just stopping for a growler and got a great surprise it turned my father in law into a stout lover...Great beer made a great day.

Pours pitch black with some cola edging. There is a nice inch layer of light tan head that dissipates quickly. Webby lacing throughout.
There is a nice roasty bill up front with some espresso and cocoa. There is some sweet cherries mingling their way through the robust madness.
The taste is showcasing the robust malts, coffee, and cocoa, but soon yeilds the sweet cherries added to the batch. The cherries offer a very light tartness before showing off its sweetness. The balance between the sweet and robust is quite nice here.
The mouthfeel is pretty nice, medium feel, and has a light amount of carbonation.
Overall, this is a great variation of one of my favorite local stouts. However, I wish the added cherries made a greater profile while adding to a thicker mouthfeel. Damn good tho.

From the brewers facebook account:
"We are ready to start the new year with a bang. Come join us at the Tap House tomorrow (Tuesday January 4th) for a tapping of a special keg of Door County Cherry Stout. Cheers!"
This is the two brothers Northwind Stout brewed with Door County cherries.
Pours into my snifter a deep black with a one finger tan head.
Smells awesome. Coffee, chocolate and a large dose of cherry hit the nose.
Taste is fantastic. I love regular northwind stout, and this being the base beer for the cherry stout helps. Right away you taste the cherry followed by a load of chocolate. The cherries must have muted the coffee because I could not find it in here. The cherry in this beer reminds me of New Glarus Wisconsin Belgian Red. Seeing as they use the same cherries, it makes sense. The cherries make this one a bit on the sweet side.
Mouthfeel was good, a little thin for a big stout, but I would think the cherries thinned it out a bit.
This is a great beer to have a snifter of, but not much more than that. It is a bit too sweet to be a very drinkable beer like the northwind is.
