A: Pours a hazy honey color. Finger of white head that leaves behind lots of soapy lacing.

S: Subtle pine and citrus hops with sweet malts. Has something that reminds me of honey, but not sure.

T: This is a nice tasting beer. The bittering of the hops is perfectly balanced by the sweet malts. The piney hops, to me, are a little more present than citrus, but overpowering.

M: Buttery and rich.

O: This is a really good beer that I'd love to have more of. Very easy to drink almost to the point where you have to remind yourself to slow down.

A: tan/rust body, 2 finger white fluffy head, good lacing

S: peach/mango, vanilla, mild oak, hint of spices

T: peach, mango, pine, malt, slow subtle oily bitter finish

M: light/med body, oily/sticky mouth

O: I think this beer has great potential. If the
body was a little heavier, perhaps the entire beer would
go from good to VERY good.

QUITE NICE, WORTH TRYING!

A - Hazy orange copper colored with an average lasting whitish head. No lacing.

S - Big sweet bready malts, and a touch of caramel. Light alcohol and a moderately noticeable hoppiness, piney and a touch of citrus.

F/M - Mostly malt-forward, big caramelly malts, bready and a little sweet. Light oaky flavors. Moderately firm bitterness. Moderate citrusy/resinous hop flavors take a back seat to the malts. Dry finish, moderate carbonation and medium bodied.

O - Ok, but a little out of balance for an IPA. The wood aging is noticeable, but detracts from the hoppy notes.

dark amber color, clear with lots of carbonation visible streaming up toward the surface. Nice rich head of white caps the top gracefully and settles down with a good bit of lacing sticking to the sides and the bottom of the glass. Rich aroma of sweet orange hops, very well balanced with a good earthy feel to it. Buttery and thick the aroma seemed to hang in the air. Warming made this only more apparent. Nice thick feel as it crosses over the palate of the tongue. Rich citrus hops, not biting but more mellow and relaxed come at you with a sweet buttery taste mid palate that really does wonders to balance it out. Light dry finish and a smooth, almost caramel like taste a few moments after the last sip. Very nicely done.

Overall a very solid and very well done IPA.

12 oz brown bottle poured into a pint glass, the beer is a medium gold with a slight chill haze. There is a sticky off-white head.
The beer smells of pine and tropical fruit. I swear there is some mango lurking in there somewhere.
There is lots of pine sap and more tropical fruit. It reminds me of really fresh Wrigley’s gum with pine. Citrus emerges about at the ¼ mark. There is some caramel malt as well. Is that wood in the finish or some more malt??

The mouth is coating but the carbonation helps keep it at bay. The mouth is borderline hefty. This beer is a winner. I really like this one, well done Brothers!

Having loved Burton Baton I have high hopes for this one. If anything it will drink like an oak aged pale

A - A nice clear amber with orange hues head was a nice two inches but turns to a sudsy ring with sticking lace throughout.

S - Hops are there but kind of faint which is understandable with oak aging. I do get subtitle notes of french oak which smell like a newly cut pool deck and notes of vanilla.

T - Wow all I can say is balanced. You start with a bit of sweet orange and lemon hops which turn to a sweetness of the barrel and touches of vanilla and finishes kind of grain like with notes of lemon hops which linger on the tongue for a good 10 seconds.

M - Surprising for the abv the body is light to medium. Hoppy but balanced

Overall I kid you not I enjoyed this more than the Kane and Ebel offering which was kind of eh. If I could find this in PA it would be my favorite session ale but I would need to travel to Ohio to get some more. With a 1.99 price tag its totally worth the 12 dollar sixer (might want to find a case) Subtle, hoppy, and with a nice sweetness this beer is a winner.

Poured from 12oz bottle.

A- Pours a golden orange color. One and finger white head shows light retention. Some light specks of lace on the sides of the glass.

S- Citrus hops are light in the front with sweet caramel malts. Light oak hints toward the middle with vanilla. Caramel malts in the ending with light sprinkled earthy hops. Hints of alcohol in the final part of the aroma.

T- Light citrus hops in the front get quickly masked by a caramel malt sweetness. The oak in the middle comes out a little more and throws off the beer I thought. Hints of vanilla in the backend with caramel malts coming through once again. Piney earthy hops linger in the ending along with a medicinal alcohol flavor.

M- Light medium mouthfeel. Carbonation is good for the style. Caramel malts, hints of oak, and earthy hops are left on the palate. Aftertaste is caramel malts, piney hops, medicinal alcohol, and a strange vanilla flavor. Flavors were not really balanced and a little watery at times. No off flavors were present while drinking this one. Light alcohol drying on the palate.

O- The flavors were a little under what I thought it was going to IPA but would have made a better pale ale personally. Can't win them all Two Brothers!

This pours light orange and has a decent foamy head and good lacing. The smell is very hoppy and citrusy. The flavor was shockingly hoppy and grapefruity. I even taste pineapple. There is a nicely combined bitterness and sweetness. I feel like this beer is a breath of fresh air; it takes that craving that you seek in a really citrusy IPA and maximizes it. I hate to say it…it’s almost too fruity, making it hard to identify any malt. However, this is a great beer with a peculiar tanginess. I haven’t had a lot of Two Brothers, but from what I’ve tried so far, I’ve been blindsided by their approach to uniqueness. I am looking forward to the Long Haul Session Ale.

A- Liquid gold. 2 finger head. Very nice layers on the lacing.

S- Nice. Bits of wood, vanilla, grapefruit, and citrus. Not bad at all. Different.

T- Again, nice and smooth. Vanilla and grapefuit. Oak and citrus. Nice balance of hops through out. Not too hoppy though. Kinda mild. I like.

M- Creamy and smooth. So smooth. Clean and wet finish. Wow. Little carbonation. This is excellent.

O- I want more. Great stuff. Another great beer by Two Brothers.

Had this one live on hand-pull @ the brewery.

This one pours a translucent gold color and has two fingers of fluffy white head that leaves mass webs of lacing all over the glass.

The nose is a wonderful blend of hops and caramel malt. A sweet buttery malt starts it off and turns to a grapefruit and mango dessert.

The taste is sweet and biscuity up front with the hops working their magic immediately after. The balance achieved here is delightfulfuly tasty. A bit of vanilla is noticed in there as well which is nice.

The mouthfeel is what I noticed first with this beer. So damn smooth in your mouth and going down. A low amount of carbonation is present as expected.

Overall, I thought this brew was great when I had my first bottle, better when I first had it on tap, and even better out of the cask! So smooth!

Pours nice golden with a thin swirly head. Smells somewhat grainy with a nice hit of sweet, citrusy hops. The taste is similar, with a bit of grain followed by a big but short hop profile that is leafy, piney, and a bit citrusy, but the hops fall off and it becomes grainy again toward the end. Fairly spicy in the mouth, and a bit thick, but pretty pleasant. Overall, a pretty nice beer.

Appearance: Golden yellow in color with sticky white head.

Got this in a recent BIF. 12oz bottle, best by 01/02/11, eh, let's see...

A: A nice honey color with a small white head that fades quickly to a lace atop the brew. Good.

S: A citrus malty sweetness upfront with some pineapple in the middle and some earthy hop on the backend. Decent.

T: A mild citrus hop with a hint of watery sweetness in the middle and some water on the backend. A watery IPA.

M: Light body with a great carbonation. A clean finish. Ok.

O: All in all, this is not a good example of an IPA. It's balanced, but more along the lines of a light pale ale. Try if you do not like IPA's, but are looking for a good segway brew.

A -- An orange hued golden brew that pours to a two finger off white head that leaves thick bands of lacing down the glass.

S -- Huge notes of citrus peel, tropical fruits, hints of pine and spruce, a slight sweetness, and a touch of earthiness.

T -- Heavy spruce notes backed by earth and grass, a hint of light grains and vanilla tones with a bitterness that carries for a while without being overpowering.

M -- Medium to mid-heavy in body, a bit resinous, drying, and mild carbonation.

D -- Strong offering, great beer to pair for palate cleansing or just to experience on it's own. Very solid brew.

Best by 6/10/11. 12oz bottle poured into a chalice. Pours a light shiny golden, transparent for the most part, not much haze. Decent head and lacing, but nice color. The aromas are nice, but faint.. the hops aren't in your face. There's also a nice sweetness in the aromas. This IPA is on the sweeter side.. it's bitter, but once again not over the top. Lots of sweet fruits in the mix.. pear, apple, pineapple and mango are definitely there. The oak is noticeable, but not over the top. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not. There are hints of vanilla. Finishes slightly dry. Mouthfeel is nice, right amount of carbonation, medium-bodied, extremely crisp. I'd definitely revisit this one, it's pretty enjoyable. Great beer for spring/summer.

This is a pretty unique IPA.. it's subtle, but bold; slightly sweet. Once again, the oak isn't extremely noticeable, but it's presence is known. Very nice IPA which should be respected, recommended.

A: A glowing orange amber color with a nice large white head. The beer is slightly hazy.

S: Very nice hop aroma. Tropical fruits, pine, and citrus. Some sugary sweetness in the finish. Nice. Not a lot from the oak though.

T: Nice bite from the hops right off the back, piney with some citrus notes. A hint of sweet caramel, and perhaps the faintest touch of oak. The bitterness really lingers.

M: Medium bodied, carbonation is a touch high for me. The bitterness really lingers with a mouthfeel that coats as you finish it.

O: Overall I think this is a pretty good beer, but I am missing the oak character. Good, but I want more.

Cask at d.b.a., Brooklyn, NY

A: The beer is clear amber in color and has no visible carbonation. It poured with a thin white head that faded away but left a thin ring of bubbles around the edge of the glass.
S: There are aromas of citrus and pine resin hops as well as oak in the nose.
T: The taste is very similar to the smell but the hop flavors are more balanced with the malts, the latter of which contribute some sweetness to the initial taste. There is a light amount of bitterness.
M: It feels medium-bodied and smooth on the palate with a low amount of carbonation.
O: The beer is easy to drink because it has a good balance between the hops and malts.

A: pours a yellow-gold ale with near excellent clarity (hint of haziness). single finger soap sud head falls to shin sheet of the same. Rare and spotty lacing.

S: Citrus, grapefruit, oak, metallic (copper). Not a particularly good smeller, but not bad either.

T: The oak on this is a bit too strong. Sweet ale with domineering citrus hopping and hints of pine and resin. The sweetness is persistent.

M: Medium to high body with medium to high carb. Not impressed. Too much carb for this beer.

O: Well done, not the finest oaked IPA I've had, but quite drinkable. I would likely pick up Great Divide's oaked IPA before this one side by side.

It's hard for me to not like an IPA, so I like this one. But it is not at one I would seek out again. The taste is a tad dark, like a scottish ale or something. I am drinking it a bit warm, so that may color my opinion, but the smell is also undistinguished.

The brewery is new to me, so I wonder if all their brews are like this. I have a few of these to drink, so I also wonder if I will ike them better very cold.

Big shoutout to ChadQuest for this beer, he hooked me up with some awesome Midwest locals in the deal we did. Thanks Chad!

Pours an orange sap color with yellow and tan hints blended into the body. Head is a healthy three-finger lacy beast, with a froth consistency that leaves excellent spotty lacing.

Nose is very much of the tropical mango variety, with plenty of sweetness as well. Only on the tail does any hop bitterness come out, and even then it is weak. There is a slightly odd scent that comes from this here that isn't wood, but I presume came from it, as the bottle says this was aged in French Oak Foudres.

Taste starts with a ton of orange citrus and juice. I LOVE the sheer concentration of the orange as the beer doesn't mess around with any other fruit really. Probably the first orange specific beer I've had, as usually it's blended in somehow with other fruits. As the orange fades, what clearly is wood comes out a bit more to add on to the citrus, offering a very pleasant oak to the palate. A touch of pine adds a morsel of flavor as well. The citrus from the start is actually quite acidic and leaves the tongue wanting for sweetness which it never really gets. I happen to enjoy the minimal sweetness in this beer, as the malt acts to neutralize any bitterness from the hops whole not overdoing it. Finish is half sticky half dry, completing the excellent taste. Nothing really unpleasant about the taste so it's tough not giving it a 5, but I've had better remains the end all to those arguments.

Mouthfeel is acidic and sticky at the end, with intense carbonation at the start of each sip enhancing the acidity greatly. This beer is drinkable simply due to the great taste and balance; the harshness at the start may put some off, but I find it pleasing and crucial to the identity of the beer. Great beer I hadn't even heard of before I got it, thanks for opening my eyes to Two Brothers Chad.

This beer is not worthy of a full review but for the sake of others it needs to be said. This is not an IPA, I don't know what else to call it but IPA is not it. The first thing I did was check the "best buy date" and that was not an issue. It tasted that way though, in a word this beer is SKUNKY, sour and damn near un drinkable. I have never been a huge fan of 2B but figured this oaked IPA could be a hit, nope. I don't know what the sourness comes from but it must be the oak.

Thanks to ChadQuest for the interesting treat!

Hazy golden orange pour, with a billowy white finger of head that leaves a bit of lacing that doesn't stick.

Aroma is slight, but noticeable. Pungent citrus fruits, notes of bitterness, some oak, and malty sweetness.

Taste much more nicely pronounced. The start is rather tart, mixed with citrus fruit and bitterness. There's some underlying malt sweetness, though lesser than the aroma. The finish is bitter, but moves more oaky/champagne/tart. Very interesting, but I'm enjoying it.

Feel is medium in body, sort of creamy textured, nicely carbonation and overall feels good.

Though I really enjoyed the tart/citrus/hoppy mashup, as a newbie to anything remotely sour, it would be somewhat of a chore to down any more than one. But, the one was a breeze!

12 oz. bottle poured into a tulip glass.

Appearance-Medium to deep gold, quite clear, Moderate off-white head with moderate retention.

Aroma-Resin and Pinesol, with a hint of lemon. So hoppy its almost chemical, like dry erase markers or white out (could be a phenolic note or something, it's very unusual). I can't decide whether or not I like it. Woody, fresh oak aroma (dissimilar from a barrel aged aroma). Woody alcohols as well. Malt is almost entirely imperceptible underneath the hop onslaught.

Flavor-Flavor is much more manageable. Sweet, honey and bready malt creates a foundation for citrusy (lemon and orange), piney hops. Oak character doesn't make much of an appearance in the flavor, maybe as a slight young wood note in the finish, but I don't think I would have perceived it as such if I hadn't been looking for it. Finishes semi-sweet, with moderate hop bitterness, much less than I was expecting after the searing aroma.

Mouthfeel-Medium body, with medium high, prickly carbonation. Slight alcohol warmth. No astringency from hops. Finish is a little bit sweet, though not quite cloying.

I was expecting more, but this beer was just okay. The strange chemical hop aromas were a big turn-off for me. The flavor was pretty damn good except that the finish was a hair too sweet, which didn't leave me thirsting for more.
