This beer is worthy to be tried. It is orange copper color with white head that laced down the pint glass. The smell and taste include pine and citrus marvales with an interesting kick of vanilla/oak push. The mouthfeel is medium body with good carbonaiton. Overall it is a taste ass beer!

This is my favorite beer by far, it is a beautiful golden IPA. Its heavy on the hoppy side of the spectrum with a great floral aroma and a crisp finish. A great example of an American style IPA. Highly recommended for all the hop heads out there. Cheers!

On tap at the Blind Pig Brewery in Champaign, IL
A: Pours a clear copper/orange color. A two finger white head forms with good retention. Nice sticky lace is left behind.
S: Grassy, floral, lemony hops. I very nice hop aroma. Toasted, grainy malts for balance. Slightly bready w ith a bit of caramel sweetness.
T: Follows the nose with plenty of floral hops. Herbal and grassy with some fruity flavors. Lots of balance with toasted malts and bread/biscuit. I like it.
M/D: A medium body that is very crisp. Clean, dry and refreshing. Very easy to drink. I can put a few away without a problem.
A very nice IPA. Like everything else I have had from Two Brothers, something I would recommend, and something I always look forward to when I visit the family in Illinois.

The only resistance was trying to get it down.
On draft at the brewpub:
This beer really had no hop aroma or flavor, leaving only the bitterness to qualify it as an IPA. The oak seems to manifest as a sharp, acrid and acidy character in the beer. It was difficult to choke this one down. I really think they should reevaluate this one.Thankfully, the food arrived and made it a little easier to drink. I don't get these guys; Hop Juice is a good IIPA, so they know how to make an IPA. Yet, the rest of there beers that claim to have some serious hop qualities do not (ie bitter end).

Live Review from Two Brothers Brewing in Warrenville, IL.
I've had this beer a hundred times in the bottle and it is one of my go-tos, but this is the first time on tap. Excuse the conciseness of this as it is being done from my iPhone.
A: Homogeneous, white, quarter-inch head rests atop a crystal clear orange-copper beer. Lacing goes down either side of the glass, but not the front and back.
S: Grapefruit is way more noticeable in the nose on tap than it is in the bottle. Hops and a strong floral presence are the backbone of the nose.
T: Perhaps due to the aroma, the grapefruit is far more pronounced on tap than in the bottle. The hops are strong as well, providing a nice bitter base to this beer. Floral and pine notes are also present.
M: Tiny, tiny bubbles tickle the palate, but this is an area the Resitance could improve upon, not as well carbonated as I would have liked.
O: Living in the Chicago Area, I am happy to have this as one of my standard IPAs. It has broad appeal to those who prefer bitter and is an outstanding example of an American IPA.

Had this on tap at the Pony Bar, 6/24/10.
A-Pours a hazy gold with a thin white head and some good sticky lacing.
S-Lots of sweet malt, rather light on the hops.
T-Much like the nose, there is plenty of caramel malt through, with some light earthy hops peeking through in the finish.
M-Medium bodied with some light bitterness.
D-This one was just ok for me. Rather short on the IPA characteristics.

I was surprised to find that Two Brothers made another IPA and equally pleased to drink it. Very well balanced beer with great malt character at a very light, almost straw character. Good hop flavor and bitter aroma without being too extreme in either category. Good carbonation, a little bit of overflow but very goo. Great hop character and a great IPA in general.

aroma is hoppy, with a calm NW thing going on
dry and easy-drinkin session IPA. it tastes golden, if that makes any sense. piney, citrus hop flavors and assertive bitterness. a touch of golden bread and fruitiness

I had this on tap into a pint glass at Revolution.
The beer is a medium clear orange with a nice head that has tons of retention and unreal lacing. The lacing fully coats the whole side of the glass as it falls and the head stays at least ten minutes.
The best thing about this beer is the look, the aroma and taste are nothing special, a little citrus, a little hops, easy to drink but nothing to write home about. I'd drink it again probably, but wouldn't search it out.

On tap at Brixies in Brookfield IL, served in a shaker pint
It pours a clear medium amber with little to no head. A medium amount of lacing coats the glass.
The nose is pretty muted with just a little bit of pine type hops and crystal malts.
The taste is where this beer came alive to me. Huge amount of pine and grassy hops with a firm bitterness. To me the oak is very present and actually cuts through the bitterness well. I don't know if it's because this is the first beer out of the foundres but the oak is strong and I really like what its bringing to this beer. There is some crystal malt sweetness to it as well.
It finishes pretty dry and the oak helps with that. The carbonation is on the higher side. It's quite drinkable and I really prefered this over the Heavier Handed. I hope this beer sticks around for a while.

Looks great off the pour. Nice balance on the profile with a significant malt base. This is subtle, to a degree, and almost English in its interpretation. Doesn't get overly boisterous with the hops, but uses them appropriately. Aging has probably smoothed this out in a nice way. I am only guessing about that l, honestly, since it's a process I am not intimately familiar with. Nice one.

Appearance: Poured with about one finger thick head that has excellent standing. Decent to good lacing. Orange amber color that is hazy and translucent. Good number of bubbles.
Aroma: Very subdued hop presence. A good amount of malt that is mixed with piney and citrus hops. Oily aroma.
Taste: Bittering hops upfront with a tail of slight malt. A good balance that tilts towards malts overall. Could have used more hops. Finish is dry. Slight bitter aftertaste.
Mouth feel: Medium bodied feel with moderate carbonation. Some mild oily feel in the mouth. Hop derived astringency that is normal for an IPA.
Overall: Try it once. Nothing wrong with this one. Could just have improved on aroma a little. Other aspects, it does its job without doing anything outstanding.

A - Light haze on an auburn orange body. White, mixed bubbled head. Nice lace and retention.
S - Light orange and peach nose.
T - Sharp, bitter opening with a touch of malt. Wet grass center. Residual honey, broccoli, and bitter greens on the backend. Something might be up with this batch.
M - Light body. Smooth, but really lacks on carbonation.
O - The green vegetable flavors are definitely off. Unfortunately this probably has more to do vendor's tap lines where I got the growler than anything Two Brothers Brewing did wrong. Sorry guys, I wont use that growler station again.

12oz bottle poured into a pint glass
A: Clear golden color with a 1/2 finger head that quickly settles to a fine lacing
S: Nice grapefruit & light malt notes. Simple but elegant.
T: Also light & elegant with clean grapefruit/malt notes.
M: Light-bodied, crisp and clean. Doesn't show its nearly 7% ABW in either weight or viscosity.
O: This is the perfect example of a beer that shows an IPA doesn't have to be in your face and bold to be well-made. Simple, clean, elegant and refreshing.

Reviewed from notes. Poured from 12 oz. bottle into pint glass.
A: This one pours a clear gold with a small white head. Mid-range visible carbonation.
S: A bit more blah than I expected - sweet malts are forward, slightly boozy, and slight fruity hops.
T: Seems muted - malts, no particular hop flavor I can find but does have hop bitterness. There is some woody dryness.
M: Thinner mouthfeel than I want. No alcohol burn but still leaves a slightly boozy impression.
O: Nothing off-putting, but nothing particularly good. Wouldn't go out of my way for this one again.

Borrowing inspiration from traditional English hopped up ales. High caramel character, earthy hops, and estery fruits all emphasize the footprint of India pale ale's historic journey in one single taste.
Hazy and with a burnish gold color, the beer releases a dainty but creamy white head that shows firm density but displays the softer carbonation in cask-like appearances. Only moderate in retention and lace, the foam eventually dissipates and leaves the beer looking relatively still.
Grass and grapefruit pull through with dedicated aromas forming complexities of zest, earth, and piney. Firm caramel notes behind are straight out of Worther's Originals' playbook. Fragrant wood, bruised peaches and apples play off of the caramel with a sweeter and fruitier tone.
Sweet for an IPA, the caramel and honey flavors are all malt, but weave in a sweeter tone that seems like candied peaches and apples. As the beer progresses, the taste of mulled grass, pine, and earthen woods rise and almost taste like freshly pulled tobacco here and there. Fruit and malt fade in finish, leaving the hop flavor to morph into resiny, acidic, and earthy bitterness, seemingly mostly of hops but partly of wood.
Medium bodied, the beer's low-lying carbonation keeps the malt hugging the tongue for greater impression of weight and richness. Residual malt sweetness and wood complexities further suppress the hops to deep in the finish where a broad hop dryness and mild wood astringency play out in a long lingering aftertaste.
The overall taste of the beer allows the malt sweetness and body hang around, preventing the hops from garnering command as is expected with IPAs. Lacking the life and vibrancy of fresh, zesty, and lively IPAs with personality, I rather enjoy the more balanced flavor that's accented with oak.

Appearance is hazy straw. Decent head and lacing.
Smell is of sour vinegar. This beer must be bad.
Taste is more intense vinegar mixed with some bitter hops and sweet malt. They are trying to break through but the sour vinegar totally overpowers the profile.
Mouthfeel is astringent.
I have had good samples of Resistance but this entire six pack was sour. Not the first time I have had a bad sixer from Two Brothers (one of my favorite brewers). They need to improve their quality control.

Growler filled at Yorktown Beverage in Yorktown, NY. Pours near clear, almond amber, slight off white heat, that leaves nicely coating fine sheeting all the way to the top of the glass.
Just a touch of grapefruit and sawdust on the nostrils.
Super dry brew, with notes of grapefruit peel. Not really getting any wood character on the palate. Tasty, citric and enjoyable IPA.

Poured from the bottle into a nonic pint glass.
A very light and nice white simple head is produced, but very tiny off the pour barely more than a finger in size. Nicely settling, slowly falling on to a opaque very pale amber body. No visible carbonation, sort of lifeless in appearance.
Nose has a sweet malt character to it, faint dark brown sugars, not particularly hop forward. Graham cracker sweet more than anything. Smells pleasant, but not like much of an IPA.
A good hop punch of pine, mixing much of that chewy biscuit graham on the end. Sweet malty milky finish much like the sensation on the nose. Small sharp finish and lingering, but sticking. Mouthfeel is pretty solid, nice tolerable carbonation also.
Overall, looking at this bottle it mentions oak. Not getting this what so ever, but I like this malt angle and hop pine finish. Kind of different but easily enjoyable. I could have this beer again, so the other bottles I have will get used up.

Poured a hazy, golden color with a white head that settled into a thin film for the duration of the beer. Pretty smooth for an IPA, more like a pale ale. Nice hints of honey and sweet bready malt are in the forefront, followed by a slightly bitter, oak finish. I'm guessing the oak aging have toned down the hops somewhat. At 70 ibu's, it's very easy to drink. This was my first Two Brothers beer I've tried, would like to get this on tap, as well as others. Since their brewery is only a few hours from where I live, I'm sure I'll be doing that this summer.

Light, hazy yellow golden color with a small white head that fades pretty quickly and leaves slight lacing.
Very oaky, woody, sweet, floral and citrusy, malty/doughy, and yeasty in the aroma.
The taste is much of what I'd expect from the smell. Oak and wood notes abound, while sweet floral and citrus hops mix with a pleasant but supportive malt bill that's a bit doughy and some notes of yeast in there that play well on what this beer is.
Light, creamy consistency, medium body, light-medium carbonation, and a finish that is light and a tad dry.
Overall this is nice beer and definitely a nice change of pace from the majority of IPAs out there. As far as oak or wood aged IPAs go, this is one of the better that I have tried, though they aren't exactly abundant. Definitely worth trying if you like IPAs and barrel aged beers.

F - medium bodied, crisp and refreshing.

Poured into a snifter.
3.0 A: Moderately hazed orange-yellow color. I only could muster about a quarter finger of frothy white head. Retention and lacing are hard to judge given the lack of head.
4.5 S: The oak smells wonderful in this; possibly because this beer was seemingly brewed to meet oak. Earthy and grassy hops dominate with a slight cat piss undertone. The oak makes this super earthy. Clean malts with a bready yeastiness.
4.5 T: Tastes like the nose. Earthy and grassy hops. Super earthy oak. Clean malt and bready yeast. Low bitterness. Incredible complementarity between the hops, oak, malts, and yeast.
4.0 M: Medium body. Good moderate carbonation. Nice creaminess, like some portion had come from a cask.
4.5 D: A stellar IPA that doesn't taste at all like the typical stellar IPA. Love the earthiness in this. Everything works so well.

Bottle into a 3 Floyd's pint glass
A: Golden orange with a small white head and nice lacing on top.
S: Very floral with nice lemon and citrus notes.
T: Sweet IPA with hints of Orange, grapefruit and lemon. Also a little woody from being aged in the Oak.
M: Medium bodied. Very refreshing overall
O: A nice oaked aged IPA. A pretty decent value as well at $9 a sixer. Would seek this out again.

Thanks to eorwar for this one. 12 oz bottle into a nonic, best by 5/30/12.
Appearance: Clear and golden with a thin head that settles to a thick collar, leaving behind some webbing.
Smell: Pretty mild aromatically, and more bready and biscuity than outright hoppy. It has some subdued citrus notes along with a touch of oak, but the malt seems dominant. It isn't sweet, nor does it seem heavy on the caramel malt, which is a plus.
Taste & mouthfeel: This is what I'd consider a balanced IPA, for better or worse. The oak is pretty noticeable here, present alongside bready pale malts and a citrus hop profile. The oak does lend something interesting to the mix; mild tannins meld with restrained bittering hops to give the finish a mellow but lingering bite. It would be easy to kill a beer like this by going too heavy on the bitterness and oak, but this does show quite a bit of restraint, and I have to give it a nod for that. Nonetheless, I tend to prefer a more hop-forward flavor in IPAs, and this doesn't deliver much on that level. Style definitions aside, it's a pretty enjoyable beer and well worth trying at least once.
