I've said for years that this was on of 2Bros best beers (behind Red Eye, but pretty even with Domaine Dupage).

Bottle into dimpled mug.

Dark yellow, almost golden, in color. Fizzy white head of 2 fingers.
Some grainy malts hold a light sweetness while the hops add a touch of spicy noble-hoppiness and a perfect bitterness.

Great feel: light and airy, perfect carbonation.

Overall-- I don't even like Dortmunder lagers, but this is a very nice beer. A perfect beer to offer BMC drinkers and craft fans alike.

12 fl oz. can, with the bottom saying to "swirl" before 07/30/2013. A beer from Two Brothers that I haven't heard of before, and it's a pleasure to see them packaging another new beer in a can. Poured into a Firestone Walker pint glass.

A - Pours three giant fingers of fluffy white head on top of a sparkling clean yellow tinted body. Lots of bubbles streaming to the top. Definitely looks like a lager, all right. Fluffy ring of lacing at the top of the glass.

S - Some faint grain characteristics, and a tart citric smell also akin to lemon, with some piney hops shining through also.

T - Crisp, smooth, refreshing. Bit of some lemon citrus and some faintly bitter piney hop presence rounds things out very nicely here. Some grainy presence makes itself known, as well. Nothing super spectacular, but in the realm of lagers, this is a nice refresher, especially on a hot summer day.

M - Feel is crisp and clean. Light-bodied, and bright. Light hop bitterness & stickiness lingers around.

Overall, a nice effort from Two Brothers. Dortmunders aren't exactly the easiest style to pull off, but they did it effectively well here. Light, smooth, & refreshing. And with a modest 5.10% abv, this is some easy drinking. Recommended.

My first Dortmund style lager.

Pours with about one finger thick white colored head that persists really well. Extremely clear light golden color. Some bubbles and very good lacing.

Malts and some noble hops. Faint aroma overall. Grainy character and some sweetness.

A very well balanced malt and hop flavor. Refreshing without being overtly effervescent. Neither the hops nor the malts dominate, providing a bland taste. Some sweetness upfront but then followed by noble hops that wipe the feel out. Very mild bitter dry finish.

Mouth feel: Slightly light to medium feel. Crisp and easy drinking. Lower than moderate carbonation. Very smooth. Quite session-able.

A decent representative of the style i guess. Better than American adjunct lagers. Very drinkable. Really nothing wrong with the beer.

A - Hard pour produced well over an inch of head that seems to be fizzing out rather quickly. Color is a bright golden yellow with a shit ton of floaties.

S - I think what stands out is that my first impression it smells like a Flemish sour ale. A good amount of brett, lemon grass, and some citrus hops. Is it possible for a lager to become infected?

T - Taste starts off with a mild touch of that sour Brett then quickly to your typical lager grains and cereal malts. Not very offensive but kind of boring as it fades out into nothing.

M - Light, bubbly, and crisp.

Overall I found a couple of similar reviews of this batch "best by 8/27/12" mentioning a sulfur and sour egg thing going on. I guess a lager can get infected...

Pours a transparent straw color with a minimal white head that is soon gone--utterly unremarkable. Aroma is mild, smelling of grain and some light hops. Not much to distinguish it from the most stereotypical beer smell. Upon tasting, the crispness stands out more than anything. A floral and citric hop flavor is most prominent, with just enough light malt to lend some balance. Nothing terribly fancy going on here, but it is crisp, drinkable, and refreshing, which is, as I understand it, what this style is all about.
