Ebel's Weiss beer is a very traditional German Hefeweizen that is naturally unfiltered. It has wonderful malt sweetness and a soft aroma of clove, vanilla, and banana. This deep golden colored weiss will make you think you are in Bavaria.

Picked up a sixer at Beverage Barn in Westhampton, NY. Bottle was then poured into traditional Hefe glassware.
A: Semi-aggressive pour produced a supremely disappointing little to no head with absolutely zero lace to speak of. Beer settled a hazy golden color with plenty of sediment.
S: Nose is mostly that of a typical German Hefe style. Lots of banana, clove and lemon citrus. What differentiates this beer from others is its inclusion of very detectable vanilla undertones, which add a nice aroma to the mix.
T: Bready to begin with and then a sudden burst of dominating lemon sourness mixed with vanilla, clove spice and banana. Not well balanced at all as the wheat finds itself completely overpowered.
M: Medium bodied with little to no carbonation...Maybe I got a bad bottle?
O: While this beer isn't terrible, its not great either. With so many superior choices in this style, I won't be grabbing this one again anytime soon.

"Best by 1/22/21"; drank 12/6/21 @ the Yarchives.
Cloudy dull orange/yellow appearance.
A rough pour yielded a small white head; nice lacing.
Banana, soft wheat, mild clove & faint lemon notes in the nose.
Soft, medium mouthfeel.
Banana, soft wheat & mild clove flavors; a simple, very effective hefe. I'd have another!

12oz bottle, shared with my wife; a gift from her aunt Grace. Best By 03/17/19. The last time I had this was probably almost 10 years ago and I wasn't a fan. Rigorous pour produces a hazy yellow-golden body capped by a very thin white head that holds minimal retention. Aroma is definitely weissbier and smells good: banana, clove, wheat, lemony citrus, earthy hops. Flavors are less appealing: lots of banana esters with wheat, clove, lemongrass, and noble hops; but it's too much banana making it sweet. Lighter body, ample carbonation, sweeter finish. Still just ok in my opinion. Too much banana - fermented too warm? So many other options out there that it will probably be another 10 years before I have this again.

Draft imperial pint at Midway airport Chicago. Somewhat cloudy golden yellow color , very sparse white head. Big clove and banana aroma. Flavor follows with prickly pepper and wheat spice to differentiate it and give extra character. A bit of vanilla in there too. Very nice with my Cobb salad.
