A nice little popular neighborhood bar in German Village. This a sister bar to Little Palace and The Rossi. The crowd here is usually pretty young and evening casual. The place is small so as a result can become very packed. You might have a hard time getting a drink if you come during peak weekend hours.

The selection is ok, nothing majorly interesting on tap but the bottle list is promising. Troegs and Chimay are noted. Everyone here seems to drink Stella Artois which is served in the branded glass.

Club 185 is off Livingston Ave in German Village, right across the street from where Oktoberfest is held coincidentally. Parking is pretty difficult to find on the surrounding streets.

The building looks much the same as most of the businesses in the neighborhood. The inside is very warm with dark wood, brick and muted green. There is a long mirror along the left side that makes the place seem bigger than it really is. The bar is on the right, and seating is crammed in wherever they can fit it.

As far as beer selection goes there isn't much to crow about. 4 taps with Guinness and Stalla being the only noteworthy. There are about 20 bottles, with CBC, Chimay and Sierra Nevada mixed in with more run-of-the-mill offerings.

Service here is pretty good. There was not a big dinner crowd on a Monday night so we were pretty well taken care of.

Food options at Club 185 run from appetizers, to sandwiches, to pizza. The grilled cheese and tomato soup special was good, as was my Nathan's hot dog with chili.

Club 185 is worth a visit not necessarily on the merits of beer selection alone. Given it's 50+ year history, location and good food to go with the beers they do have however, it is worth checking out.

This is a great local hangout for food which was recently changed hands and improved the food menu. The food here is pretty good for pub style, particularly with the demise of nearby Thurns. Now as for beers, they have the usual macros like PBR, Bud, Miller, etc. For the taps, besides the usual macros to choose from, the usual local brews for added tap choices. While not a great hang out for beer, it is a popular hang out for the after work crowds. Obviously in this neighborhood, Columbus Brewing is better for beer, but more expensive for food.

A decent stop on the edge of German Village, this being an older building retrofitted to this bar use. The selection of beers here is somewhat surprising with an emphasis on lagers rather than ales or a mixture. Some old standbys from the past such as PBR, Strohs, Millers Hi-Life, and German lagers are featured here along with four tap beers, the best of which was Elevator's Buckeye Red. Nice large, long bar on one side with high tables filling the room. Difficult on-street parking is a limiting factor here.
