Medium-light amber. A little hazy. Short, white, persistent head.
S - Sweet and lightly malty. Bread, a little toast.
T - Sweet and malty with a dry finish. Bread and grain with some slightly funky tart citrus.
F - Medium-light.
O - Refreshing. A little different flavor profile from other Helles I've had.

Softly clear light caramel amber brown color, thin but solidly built white head that fades off quickly, some spotty glaring lace sticks. Aroma is a uncouth medley of slight sweetness, slight grains, a bit vinous, some fresh celery tops, and hard mineral water. Taste is a bit plain, some nudges of slight sweetness and malty grainyness. Has a strange mineral-like taste with tannin-like effects overall. Feel is a bit flat and watery with some tinny and dulled acidic tones. A disappointing lifeless bomber by Viking, why oh why did this go out?

22 oz. bomber.
pours out a crystal clear amber colour. thin fine white head and nice lacing. a somewhat funky and "unstyle" like horseblanket yeast aroma. i get absolutely no malt or grain aromas...sort of sad. upon first taste, more of the house yeast of viking...slightly sour and papery. hints of grain and grass...hay and clover. talk about a beer that captures the essence of dairy country...this would be the perfect lager after a long hard summer day on the farm milking cows, tending horses and bailing hay. and yes, i speak from experience! mouthfeel is extremely smooth...despite the active bubbling carbonation in my glass. finish is more of the yeast...not really to my taste for this style.
this helles could use more malt and grain flavours and less yeast flavours. maybe an off bottle too, but i'm not sure i would like a totally fresh sample either. our BA wisconsinites need to review this offering. i'm not impressed.
