I may be biased because this was the first tasting room I have been to, but I love this place. Great people, great atmosphere, great beer! Awesome live music on weekends. Ride your bike to the brewery on Wed and your first pints free...bring in your receipt of a six pack purchased at a grocery store, and your first pints free...Did I mention that its ANY beer on tap that's FREE, even their specialty stuff! If you bring in 10 recycled cases of PSB they will fill your Growler for free. Stop by on Thursdays and they serve free hot wings! This place has it all. Pearl Street will always be near and dear to me! Cheers!

I've been wanting to check this place for far too long now, and feel pretty good about it now that I have!

We missed the last tour of the day by maybe an hour, but the place is an "open book" if you've been touring True Micro breweries from the mid-1980s onward. That said, the tour sounds good: $6 for the tour, a logo pint, and a couple of beers.

It's pretty cool that they schedule taproom hours in addition to the regularly-scheduled tours, as it offers some nice flexibility to people in town for other events -- there's often a lot going on in La Crosse.

Big, spacious and open environment and a PING PONG table! That's almost more impressive than the decent-sized stage they have for some live musical accompaniment, by cracky!

Six or seven offerings at the bar (tasting area, actuallly -- no booze on site, here) and they're generous with the samples. They were also very forthcoming vis-a-vis the batches on tap: learning about the "Java Lava" was almost more fun than drinking it!

Some display coolers near the sampling area are filled to the brim with Dankenstein, fresh growlers, and all of their packaged offerings, all for reasonable prices.

No food that I could see... maybe chips on a rack behind the taps? Simple pretzels and mustard to pair with the beer, and that made me want to break out my stash of Marieke Gouda, a fresh baguette, and some smoked salmon... but we were more passing-through than anything: I'll be back!

Stopped here for a beer based on a recommendation from a friend. Located in the back of a huge old warehouse right inside the brewhouse. Nice little bar that seats about 10 with tables and chairs on both sides of the taproom. Foosball table available to use also. Plenty of standing room also. They had about 8 beers on tap. We went with the Double Maibock and Java Stout which were both really good. We paid $7-8 for two beers, so the prices were very good for what we drank. You can also buy their sixers/four packs to go here. A nice little place to grab some fresh pints.

Yet another stop in the brewery tour.

Hidden in the back of an abandoned warehouse this was another place that wasn't easy to find.

Once inside we found a huge open industrial warehouse with a handful of brew kettles, tables and a bar smack dab in the middle. First thing I noticed was no A/C. FML it was hot in this joint. Thankfully they at least had a handful of industrial fans blowing directly on the bar area. Making it at least bearable for a bit.

The selection was all Pearl Street. About 8 I believe. We ordered a round and began chatting with the bartender. Once again she was more than happy to give us any info we wanted on the place. I love that.

No food but they did offer bowls of pretzels with spicy brown mustard while you drink. Better the standard popcorn in my opinion.

Overall a cool place to have a beer straight from the "mothers teat"

Visited the newish tap room in the brewery, an industrial space in a loft building emblazoned with "Lacrosse Footwear" on the outside. They had a sign hanging outside on the stairs leading up to the brewery, halfway down the lot from the street. Hop vines were growing on the staircase.

Inside it was an open industrial loft, all the brewing equipment in full view, the sweet smell of fresh wort hit my nose before we walked in. There was a small bar that seated maybe 10-12. It had a black concrete top, laquered and inlaid with lettering of the brewery's namesake. No A/C, but they had some industrial fans cranked up. Mismatched tables and chairs, with some breweriana here and there. A board hung above the bar with the 8 beers on tap. Dankenstein IIPA was incredible at the source, very resiny and full of cantaloupe notes (far better than the bottled version).

The bartender chatted beer with us for awhile and the small crowd was friendly. They are open limited hours, 4-8pm I want to say.
