330ml bottle from Carrefour, Brussels (€1.95):
This one looked great as it was poured & the nose was great with zesty & floral notes kicking things off alongside a combination of fruits that included some banana & pear with plenty of caramel backing things up. Things faded slightly come the taste with the fruits still there but the caramel seemed drowned out with the bread malts & it didn't seem quite as sweet this time around. It was a pleasant & enjoyable beer that was lively & well-carbonated with a dry, sharp finish to see things out.

From cervezasespeciales. In La Trappe chalice. Watching Sons of Anarchy 2x01. Withouth the typical belgian sweetness and more like the brew of an amateur spanish micro. Small disgusting bitterness

Amber color with a thin head with short retention with lots of floating particles.
Nice sweet aroma with predominant notes of prunes, cinnamon, burnt caramel and coconut. It does smell like a Brazilian Manjar de coco (coconut pudding with caramel syrup with prunes) or even an apple strudel.
Similarly flavor of caramels, prunes, herbal hops, lots of cinnamon, red apples, flamed pears, candi sugar, wood and oxidized oranges.
Light to medium body with mild carbonation. Amazing how they hid the 7.5% abv.
Full or desert flavors and aroma. Much more complex than the regular Belgian blond, it is more like a bruin or Dubbel. Pretty decent.

Appearance: Cloudy light-golden amber, with a modest off-white head, thick glass-coating lace, and slight carbonation.
Aroma: Fresh baked bread slathered with butter complimented by notes o apples, spices, and green pears.
Taste: Opens with bread notes, mild honey, pears, and apples. A mild caramel flavor is also present throughout. Alcohol notes are present, but a bit restrained and are only slightly warming.
Mouth feel: Smooth, soft, and pleasant.
Drinkability/notes: Very pleasant and drinkable. Well suited to quiet contemplation on a cool, dark autumn day.
Presentation: Packaged in a 335 ml (11.2 ounce) Euro-style brown glass long-neck bottle, served in a New Belgium Brewing chalice.
