Poured from the bottle into a Dogfish Head IPA glass.
A gorgeous deep crystal tangerine clear orange, with hints of supper shiny copper edges. Slow to medium rising cascading pinehead bubbles fill the glass, to make a tall four finger soapy big retention head. Island pucked top and soapy clumps of lace smash the glass all over. A real good looker we have here folks.
Nose has a hint of pine and juice like fruit, mostly earthy qualities but also a little muddy. Pretty solid, not much sweetness or imperfections going on here which is nice.
First sip is a large oily thick and syrup coat that hints at brown sugar, but finishes with a piney oil slick the whaffs up nicely on the swallow. Good moderate carbonation and no boozy off putting flavors either. Lots of chewy pine going on here, not much of a fruit angle in the flavor but seems to be trickery on the senses more than anything.
Overall, really do enjoy these single hop beer from Flying Dog.

The smell is what I like most about this imperial ipa. Nice and hoppy and floral, which I love. Appearance is golden honey. Taste is full-bodied and slightly piney. Mouth is smooth with medium carbonation. Finishes bitter and dry, yet somehow sweet. A complex beer worth checking out for yourself.
