Clear copper pour with a quickly fading head and minimal lacing. Nice caramel, perfumy nose with a hint of pepper. Nicely balanced with a solid caramel base offset by a subtle hoppy bitterness. Nice slightly chewy mothfeel. Highly drinkable, quality pale ale.

Bottle into glass gives a mediuem sized, light-biege head. beer is orange/copper in color almost translucent. Head dissipates rather quickly and leaves a small amount of lacing. Smells mostly of malt, caramel and a little roasty, not getting much hops except a tad floral.

Taste starts with caramel malt and heavy bread. Has a little bit of roastiness throughout, with a hint of floral and citrus on the finish. Has a bit of creaminess, heavy body for an PA with heavy and lively carbonation.

Poured from a 12 oz. bottle to a pint glass. Served north of 55º Fahrenheit.

(Appearance) Pours a light foamy beige-white head. Lacing is thin and spotty, and retention is slightly north of average. Body color is a mildly hazy copper amber with moderate carbonation. It meets all the standard expectations in terms of appearance, and the head quality isn't bad for the style either. 4.25

(Smell) Aroma swings malt-forward, mildly roasted bready caramel malts with a touch of diacetyl to pair. Hops are further concealed, with a mild floral base and a touch of mild spicy hop character. Overall it's potent enough to maintain interest, although lighter in the hop department than it deserves, I find the overall balance not too far off to significantly damage the score. It's far more inviting than detracting. 3.5

(Taste) Flavors allow a more pronounced floral hop finish with a mild herbal quality to pair with a light caramel bread malt. The finish is very slightly dry, but overall the beer is exceptionally quaffable. There's a better balance in the flavor than even the aroma gives off, and while none of the flavors are busting with enthusiasm, the collective effort is worth savoring. I could enjoy quite a few of these. 4

(Mouthfeel) Texture is mildly creamy and slightly chewy with a frothy carbonation presence. Body is medium for a Pale Ale, and light/medium overall. Alcohol presence is pleasantly very low. Very few astringencies overall as the mild esters and diacetyl notes play to the beer's complexity without distracting the drinkability. The balance is quite fine with just a touch of dryness for a comfortable medium between a filling, yet inviting beer texture and body. 4.5

(Overall) It's not a good call for someone who goes for a Pale Ale with an excessive depth in malt and hop finesse. That said, I'm impressed by the balance and execution of the flavors that coalesce into this Pale Ale- sometimes simpler is safer. Neither the hop presence nor the malt character dominate the palate, the body is just balanced enough with enough sweetness to satisfy and a mild enough dry finish to keep drinking. Any astringency noted in the flavor only plays it further to it's merits. One of my choice American Pale Ales. Recommended. 4.25
