From the bottom of the can: "ENJOY BY 10/07/21 16:22"

Appearance: The body is a nice medium-light shade of amber with decent clarity. The head is thick, fluffy, white, and has dense foam with some pock-mark craters on the surface. Good retention and lacing.

Aroma: There is coriander on the nose along with a lemon-lime scent and a gentle wheat aroma.

Taste: Up front the wheat comes through very strong with a semi-tart lime-like flavor. The flavor stays consistent from the front of the palate to the back. The aftertaste is just a slightly less version of the previous flavors.

Mouthfeel: The body is light and somewhat crisp at the end. The can states that this is a "GOSE" but it is a little under-textured for a Gose.

Overall: The can states "OLD BAY GOSE" and that it is an "ALE BREWED WITH OLD BAY® SEASONING AND LEMON." The Old Bay seasoning doesn't seem to cut through the citrus or even the wheat in the beer, so it seems entirely absent unless it's providing some unknown quality to the beer. It also lacks some of the texture and body of a Gose. Aside from these two elements, the beer as a whole still tastes very good. It has a nice wheat flavor and aroma with a strong coriander aroma. The advertised lemon comes through very well. I would say that this drinks more like an Americanized Witbier than anything else, so I would recommend to those who might find that interesting. Old Bay lovers might find it lacking in season, and Gose lovers might find it lacking in texture. I could drink it again based on the flavors and aromas present in the beer, but not based on what was advertised on the can.

Good looking golden beer with a huge 2-3 finger thick foamy head that faded slowly and left spotty lacing. Smells and tastes like a lager with Old Bay seasoning and lemon zest. Some people may enjoy those summery essences, but I wasn’t a fan of it in my beer.

Had this on tap at, of all places, an Applebees. Poured a hazy yellow/gold with a foamy 1 finger head that lingered for a few before dissipating. Aroma was a light citrus with a hint of Old Bay. Taste was faint lemon with a hint of Old Bay, not overpowering, but just enough to let you know it was there, in addition to a slight malt profile. Finish was dry with a hint of spice.

Overall, a pretty balanced beer.

Cloudy gold yellow color.
Medium carbonation with a slightly thin body
Aroma isnt overpowering but the lemon, lemon peel, and old bay is there. Some grain and cracker as well
Taste is almost identical to aroma with old bay showing up more in the end and finish.
Interesting, flavorful, would go great with seafood as well as some other foods.
Would try it again

(12 oz can, enjoy by 11/08/19; purchased single off shelf... poured into fat tulip)

L: polished-clear, amber liquid; delicately yellowed, white foam builds, then pulls back, but laces a few crusty streaks of lace

S: Old Bay isn't over the top, actually a bit inviting (for anyone who likes it) against a foggy background of (girl scout) lemon cookie; vague note of toasty pale malt in the back... with the various spices, almost an overall resemblance to a dry, spicy, Belgian golden ale... as the head falls, the Old Bay does even fade off a bit, while a perfumy lemon zest rises

T: not much Old Bay up front, but it sure emerges in the finish, though it's kept in decent check and luckily has little sweetness enhancing the malt/lemon character, turning this into 'seafood candy'... does get a bit simple and dull (heavy filtering an accomplice?) as it goes, but the spice, lemon, and malt are all thankfully, judiciously restrained

F: taut, glassy, streamlined, light body, with a healthy charge of carbonation keeping it active, lifting, invigorating... doesn't leave a trail, moreish

O: much more balanced, restrained, and refined than I'd feared; but I wouldn't mind trying an over-the-top, briney gose version... relatively enjoyable on its own; natural draw toward food pairings a head-scratcher? - it may go well with a shrimp bisque or buttery white fish (fats)... its flavor expressions may leave a little to be desired, but it's undeniably smartly executed, and something I will find a reason to share and enjoy again (1497)

12oz can into a pint glass. Enjoy by 10/7/18, stupidly thought it was this Summer's release. Oh well, for what it's worth...

Clear pale golden yellow body with decent carbonation. A good white head dissipates to a thick ring and covering. Some nice lacing.

A somewhat muted Old Bay aroma and a little malt.

Upon tasting, the Old Bay is the only flavor coming through. The lemon is only suggested through the dry finish. Somewhat beery as well. The spice of the Old Bay creates a false alcohol warmth in the back of the throat. Overall, not a good taste.

Mouth close to medium, finish dry and spicy.

Overall, Old Bay should only be used on seafood.

This is the first Flying Dog ever that I'm scoring down.
First up it had nice aromas but when taki g a sip I was shocked: tasteless and bitter. What is this?
Then the aroma somewhat disspated and the taste got a bit more intense. Has a lingering aftertaste of the "real" ale or perhPs even the lemons but it's not that pleasant.
Had it with food so it was okay, as I didn't pay too much attention to the taste.
Otherwise it would have been a bummer.
Sorry Flying Dog, but this is not your best shot...

This was my first impression, after it I let the beer warm up for a bit. Then i started feeling the Old Bay spices and I said hmm! interesting! Once the spices come into play, they give it a definite spicey taste that ki d of matches the ale and the bitterness is less outstanding, less noticeable. The spices then add a quite unique - though weird, but still unique - aroma and flavor at the same time that somehow feels very similar. At one point I felt that the blend of spices is very similar to bittering hops - so you almost don't notice that you're drinking a spice beer until the very end when the multitude of hot flavors hit you.

So there you have it. It is a quite complex and strange beer that is very unfamiliar yet complex. I believe it is worth giving a chance to it, giving it enough time and attention to appreciate its strangeness.

Easy review. Two words. Don't bother. You know, I'm the idiot who did have this before but wasn't sure so this Sat AM I got it again. I love crabs, the water, the Chesapeake Bay and all things Eastern Shore. But this fucking stinks, I'd rate it a zero if I could. Truly, one of the worst beers I've ever had, Disgrace. Will email the brewery later, takes nerve to make this, Aroma and flavor non existant, is that good enough for a review?
