Pours a clear gold with a lot of white head. Massive lacing on the way down. Nose is sweet and thick...just like I love the Belgians to be. So far, the signs point to a good experience. Flavor is oh so smooth. Sweet and even, it almost seems to have a slight nutty edge to it - or maybe it is wood-like. Very slight at that, whichever it may be. Standard sweet and citrus aspects to it, but this isn’t just a standard brew. This one is well crafted and extremely smooth. Feel is great. Good levels of carbonation. Drinkability? If this were readily available to me (I brought it back from a trip), I’d be drinking this all the time.

330 ml stubby bottle, from Vinmonopolet Vika, Oslo. ABV is 7.5%. Pale golden colour, slightly hazy in the end, huge white head. Aroma of grassy hops and mild spices. The flavour is quite refreshing for its strength, not too sweet, some fruity notes and mild spices again, moderate hops in the finish. Fairly decent beer, might buy again - but a slight metallicness in the aftertaste makes me uncertain about that.

Poured a golden orange body with great head and lace. The aroma is rather mild and has a juiciness to it like apples or pears (not that I drink pear juice). Smooth, clean, easy to drink, has a rather sweet maltiness with hints of Belgian yeast and floral notes. Not a bad beer but not really a Belgian, in my opinion, and the hops/Belgian hops are minimal at best and just an ok beer overall.

There is more to like about this beer than the ratings indicate. Since there are few Belgians that it seems I have not Had, Sloeber was a pleasure to find.
First of all, the bottle and the 4-pack carton are much better than the photo below (and more recent.) The beer bottle with arms and shadow and a Dali bend are all interesting. (Does BA update photos?)
Second, this is just one of those funky Belgian yeasts that creates indescribable tastes.

So, it is best to take the rest of this review from MJ's "Great Beers of Belgium" that says "Originally fuller in color and flavor than its competitors, Sloeber ("The Joker") has joined the crowd. Full gold. Talc-like aroma. Firm body Dry palate with some enjoyably citrusy flavours."

More like a Tripel than a Duvel clone. Sweeter and fruity and pepery notes. More body as well. I was a bit dissapointed because I expected something else. Still not a
bad beer.

Beautiful fluffy head on this, but the rest tastes like a glorified lager. Very light in color, with lots of malt and grain presence. Slight bitter, musty aftertaste. I’m not impressed,(but a good looking label too)
