A: The beer is clear light amber orange in color and has a moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a finger high off white head that died down a bit but consistently left a thin head covering the surface.
S: Light aromas of apples are present in the nose along with notes of sweet malts and hints of alcohol.
T: The overall taste is a little sweet and rather malty with notes of apples and hints of alcohol. As the beer warms up, the alcohol becomes a little more noticeable.
M: It feels medium-bodied and a little syrupy on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer reminds me a lot like a sweetned version of an American Malt Liquor except the taste is not that offensive. The apple flavors definitely help to mask some of the alcohol. This beer is surprisingly not that difficult to drink considering its style and strength.

16.9oz bottle poured into a pint glass
Appearance- Yellowish in color with amber hues and a tiny bit of white head that fizzes away quickly. Lots of carbonation bubbles streaming up from the bottom.
Smell- A tart hop with hints of bready grainy malt.
Taste- A hint of booze followed by toasted wheat and grain with a nice tart hop balance.
Mouthfeel- Nice medium mouthfeel with tons of carbonation that is an easy drinking beer.
Overall- A very tasty beer for the style. Lots of flavor that is well balanced and pretty easy om the palate.

Poured into pint glass, color is amber, feint head.
Smell is grainy, kinda harsh, not much malt flavor to note.
Taste is also harsh, lots of grain but no malt specific notes, light adjunct. Bitterness is there but not adding anything.
Mouthfeel is actually ok, not a harsh carbonation.
Overall, a euro dark lager with nothing to stand out

Served in a pint glass.
Appearance: Slightly darker (maybe bolder is a better word) gold with little bubbles on the body. Light white head that is a settles to nothing before a sip. Take a taste and no head at all.
Smell: Light malt scent, and that is about it. Not bad but definitely not much word smelling here.
Taste: Like a serious malt beverage, I do like it but not the best you will have. Strong alcohol feel that makes the bitterness feel a little sweet. Feels like a light marzen with it slightly being creamy.
Mouth: Great after taste, but disappears as quick as you can blink.
Overall: This beer is good for a buzz, but that's really it. Not a bad thing, just don't treat it like the best beer will ever get because there is room for improvement. Salud!

Best before 3/6/13.
Pours a slightly hazy orange with a foamy orange-white head that settles to a film on top of the beer. Small streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is malt, grain, alcohol, and some skunky aromas. Taste is much the same with an odd fermented fruit flavor on the finish. There is a medium amount of alcohol burn and a slight bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty poor beer that has a pretty unpleasant aftertaste.

Hevelius Kaper has a thin, soapy, off-white head and a semi-clear, somewhat bubbly, orange appearance. There is not much lacing here. Aroma is mild, but one can detect some bread and a little molasses. Taste is of brown bread (think Roman Meal brand), caramel, sweetness, and a decent underneath hop bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium to heavy, and Hevelius Kaper finishes pretty crisp, mostly dry, and surprisingly easy drinking. This is so different from high-gravity American lagers. I think it is very good, and I recommend giving it a try.

A - Perfectly clear amber brew with slow rising carb strands.
S - Sticky sweet malt syrup. Sweetness akin to Twizzlers.
T - A lot of sweet simple malt sugar up front. An unrefined alcohol bite, with some fruit skin bitterness towards the end. Simple malt sweetness as the base. Seems like a beer that needs a lot more time, if that may help.
M - Light bodied but the abv hits the palate in a fairly unpleasant way IMO.
O - Not bad bang for the buck with 8.7% for under 2 bucks.

Served in a Gale Sayers shaker pint glass.
Finally finishing my style ticks with a beer I remember being pretty solid from my earlier drinkin' days. I hope it's still good... It pours a clear copper (go figure) topped by a half-finger of short-lived dirty-white foam. The nose is almost entirely composed of buttery biscuits, though some very light grass and flowers vainly attempt to muddle their ways through to the 'strils as well. The taste goes in a different direction, opting for a melange of caramel, mandarin orange syrup, light maple syrup, candi sugar, and a touch of mint in the background. Gotta say, this ain't the best taste in the world... The body is the heaviest light-medium possible, with a light moderate carbonation and a sorta syrupy feel. Overall, a sub-standard brew, one that's having me question my earlier beer opinions...

Served @ 40F in pilsner glass.
Pours a very clear, deep gold color with an off-white head. Aroma is pretty low, some malt, spice, and lemon peel. Taste has a rich, caramel sweetness and alcohol warmth, with a lingering bitter finish. Soft, medium-bodied mouthfeel, medium carbonation. Not an elegant beer but decent.

This beer pours out as light redish golden color with a fizzy white head that vanishes quickly. The aroma of the beer is a bit herbal and kind of strange, not the most appealing smell here. The taste reminded me of a Samichlaus Helles a little bit. It was almost too flavorful I think. There was just a lot going on and not enough of a balance to figure out what. The mouthfeel was a little heavier than most lagers. Overall I wouldn't need to have this one again.

Poured from a 500mL bottle into my Moonlight shaped pint glass.
Clear amber body with a large active soapy beige head which recedes to a fluffy half finger. Decent retention; lacing is mediocre and doesn't adhere to the glass.
Sugar, malted wheat, corn starch, and a vague spiciness (caraway and cardamom?) in the nose.
Caramel sweetness accompanies a light bready/toasty malt character followed by a very mild chamomile/grassiness and faint esters from the alcohol. The flavor profile is an odd sort of a cross between malt liquor and a traditional bock. Finishes a bit sweet and somewhat drab - attenuation could be better. The malt isn't "clean" particularly, and I wonder if dextrose or some other adjunct was utilized in the brewing process?
Slick, somewhat sticky, medium-light bodied, with modest carbonation. ABV sneaks up on you.
Not bad with food, but there are better Polish beers...though rated to style there are certainly worse.

A-Pours a rose-hued amber with two fingers of white head.
S-Dry, and biscuity smelling light malts with a bit of flowery, hop notes.
T-Very flowery and intensely and unpleasantly herbal with very a pretty alcoholic finish.
M-Very dry with a light body, and medium carbonation with a pretty warm/alcholic feel.
D-Among the most unpalatable beers I've ever tried. This one is just not my thing. The floral and herbal notes are overwhelming with the combination of the very present alcohol makes this one I won't try again.

I read the reviews from D- to A+ and am glad I tasted it regardless of what anyone had to say because it is a good beer. It is easy to drink, it packs a punch, and as pointed out by my good buddy AC, "the Polish beer looks incredible in a glass almost like a liquor."
It is definitely worth tasting on a night you have no where to go in an environment that supports drinking and enjoying the buzz.
Look for the 1 Pt. 0.9 Flo. Oz. bottle.

Poured into a weizen glass. Still dont have a pilsner glass.
A-Pours a hazy golden amber with very thin white head.
S- Sweet malts, some raisins and prunes.
T- Much better than I expected. Same as the nose, sweet malts, some citrus, prunes and a little bit of vodka after bite.
M- Thin with very little carbonation.
D- Strong stuff, not sure how many I can put down before trying something weaker.
This is a good beer and good priced. It vaguely resembles a strong Belgian dark.

BBD: 31.01.10 single bottle from Gene's, didn't realize this was past code until opening it, too bad it was from a stack of several cases.
Rich nutty caramel and dried fruit character, really gives more of a Bock impression. Standard appearance, copper gold, high clarity. Poor retention, fades fast from an initial fingers width of foam. Flavor is a bit sweet but not cloying. A low amount of oxidation, some papery dryness, but it doesn't distract. Low carbonation, an easy sipper. Overall it's worth a try, with a fairly unique flavor for a Polish lager.

(Served in a strange)
A- This beer has a clear light copper body with a fizzy tan head that fades before I can set the glass down. There is a sea of racing bubbles that pop to the surface.
S- The faint green apple note leads to a bigger but still soft pot caramel aroma. Otherwise the aroma is pretty clean.
T- The soft pot caramel malt is a clean and lagered flavor with a brassy flavor in the finish. There is a soft melanoidin quality then a carbonic acid dry bite in the finish. The flavor is pretty clean just like the aroma.
M- The light mouthfeel is crisp with a fizzy finish and no alcohol heat noticed.
D- This beer hides the alcohol and flavor very well. It is a smooth drink with no off-flavors and in fact there are not really many flavors at all, especially for such a big beer. This is very thirst quenching which can be make a quick end to the night at 8.7 % ABV.

16.9 Ounce brown bottle poured into a pilsner glass
Appearance: Dark yellow in color with a medium amount of head that diminished quickly leaving little lacing.
Smell: Not a very noticeable smell, what is there is kind of a mix between sweet corn, alcohol and nuttiness (in that order).
Taste: Not much better then the smell, it is not that it is bad it just doesn't really taste like anything. There is a slight nutty dryness to it but other then that it is pretty bland.

500 ml bottle.
Pours a bright orange/gold with tons of tiny bubbles racing towards the top to a creamy white head that lasts awhile and leaves a bit of lacing.
The smell is subdued and not too pungent, light hops, carmally malts.
The taste is pretty sweet with no sign of hops. Theres thick caramel, butterscotch, and fruit flavors. The alcohol is pretty noticeable.
It is a bit cloying but not quite over the edge.
It is a high octane brew but doesn't exactly drink like one, it is cheap but i prob wouldn't buy it again.

Procured a big beer bottle at WFM on sale. Poured into a big frozen glass mug.
A: Dark red with not much carbonation evident. There are some strange little floaty islands of head on the surface of the brew. Looks good.
S: Appearance was deceptive. I smell burnt brown sugar, stale wheat bread and metals. Not good.
T: Initial taste is artificial sweetness, followed by a sharp, alcohol taste with a metallic finish.
Drinkability: None for me. I almost poured it out after half. Hugely prevalent high alcohol content. I guess this would be a big step up to the Icehouse crowd.
Value: Even on sale, I wouldn't do it again. Not recommended.
Just cuz it was brewed in Europe doesn't mean it's any better than Colt 45.

Pours a nice copper yellow color with good foamy head with very good retention but no lacing.
Aroma is metallic and not very representative of the beer. A light pilsner aroma to it but otherwise not much going on.
Taste is unique but not wonderful... between the "raisin" flavor of a dark crystal malt and a more bready toasty malt. Very clean finish other than some lingering flavor form the dark crystal. Some European hops lingering in there for balance.
Mouthfeel is pretty standard but benefits from good refreshing carbonation. Drinkability is also OK.. the toasted malt keeps you interested but towards the end of the bottle the alcohol gets to you.
My friend used to buy this in college and was one of the first craft (if you want to call it that) beers I ever drank. I still buy it basically for that reason and it brings me back nicely. Not a bad beer overall.. sort of like half a dopplebock half a light Oktoberfest.

Pours a lovely clear and bright orange amber with a nice white head that fades quickly.
Nose of light banana and ripe peach.
Mouthfeel is full and rich.
Flavor is sweet and full of ripe fruit. Has some sweet carmel and sweet coffee/stone fruit flavors. This bottle was, admittedly, over 2 years past it's "best by..." date. I have a feeling that the age did it well as some of what may have been a cloying sweetness seems to have been refined.
There is some age on the beer but you're able to get a feel for what it may have been like when more fresh. Not bad, as it is. Actually full of sweet malt and interesting character at this point.
Would not hold on to this much longer. Consumed Sept. 2009; "Best by" date on bottle of July 2007. Still pretty decent with the age.

Deep golden color with a solid thin but full cap of foam sealing the top of the beer.
Aroma-Big malt/alcohol nose with some slight fruity character to it.
Flavor-Sweet malt slickness on the lips followed by a fruity(light fruits) estery mid-palate. Alcohol is clearly evident. Some hop bitterness. Very dry.
Mouthfeel-Full body. Sweet up front. Medium carbonation. Slightly minerally and dry finish.
Drinkability-Very good. Can't drink these all night but definately can have a couple no problem.

Whoa! That's a sweet (flavored, not good) beer! Poured with a decent off-white head and a bit of lace. Color is a lovely medium amber. Aroma is an extremely sweet smelling malt and a hint of beer. Flavor is the same but bolder. Real heavy alcohol character. Could be worse I suppose. Strongly suspect a headache in a bottle. Finish is sadly not short.

One of my customers brought this up from FL for me. Great guy!
16.9 oz brown glass pry-top bottle. Best Before 31.01.09.
Appearance: Poured into a tall pilsner glass, leading to lots of cascading, large bubble light tan head. Lots of bubbles collect on sides of glass. Orange gold color and ever so slightly hazy.
Nose: Sweet lager aromas of candied pale malt dried basil, orange blossom, honey.
Palate: Ok, lots going on here. At first it's sweet Polish lager, then its herbal spicy, then it's really booze-y from the 8.7% abv, then back to Polish sweet lager, then dry and astringent. This beer is all over the map. Spicy is a good descriptor, and astringent alcohol burn on the finish.
Notes: I don't really know what to say about this beer except it's unlike any other I've ever drank. It's fairly prickly from the alcohol, but that curious spiciness is intriguing.
