Cloudy dark yellow, very effervescent. Rotten banana in the nose - as in many Weizenbier - but unfortunately or fortunately, very light. Completely lacking taste, just metal, no spices, nothing. It seems just a little sugar water, but very slightly bitter.

A sub-quality Weizen , just insignificant and downright bad.

Can, 500 ml, this is made for Lidl supermarkets.
Hazy, non transparent, dark yellow colour with a two finger head. Quickly dissolved into a 1/4 of a finger. Aroma is of fruits, green apples maybe? A bit of caramel too..Taste is also sweet and fruity.
Very thin in body, almost watery with very light carbonation.
It would score higher if it wasn't for the light body.

Can into Guinness brewhouse series glass in low altitude Galway Ireland. Can acquired in Lidl stores, Galway. Reviewed live.

A: Pours a four finger head of a bit of cream, nice thickness, and good retention. Hazy cloudy dark yellow-orange colour. Nontransparent.

Sm: Wheat with citrusy ester notes of orange, lemon, and maybe grapefruit. Pleasant bread yeast - unnoticed until I looked for it after reading another review (me broken nose makes it difficult to detect individual notes).

T: Wheat foundation with citrusy overtones, never really congealing as they ought to. Good hefewessbiers usually prominently favour the esters over the wheat, but this one does not, which is to the beer's detriment. The balance is off, as is the build.

Mf: Smooth and wet, with some coarseness on the climax. The aforementioned wheat emphasis takes away from the would-be refreshing aspect.

Dr: Extremely affordable by Irish standards, and not a bad beer for the price.

Pours a vaguely cloudy gold with white head that dies and clings a bit. Diesel and overripe banana nose. Corn and faint tropical fruit malts with coriander ting to finish. Greasy finish. Thin, flat.

I always wondered what no name beer from Lidl was like. Now I know.

Brewed for the German supermarket chain Lidl. The name of the manufacturer (brewery) is stated at the label, a very unusual thing for Lidl.

This is one of the first beers that I had served from a plastic returnable bottle.

The beer looks like an average hefe weissen: Hazy orange-gold-yellow liquid; a high foam that slowly sinks down to a finger thick head, leaving some lacing.

The smell is also as it should be: Green apples, sour wheat, some yeast - dough and a hint of sweetness.

The taste is OK, although a bit mild and neutral. Some sourness, notes of sour fruits (green apples, green bananas, and kiwis), some dough and bakers yeast. The aftertaste got flavours of dough, minerals, some lime/lemon and white bread.

Carbonation is a little too weak for the style. Lots of medium sized bubbles. The liquid is half watery, half creamy.

I remember this beer as extremely cheap; 0.5 l was something like US$ 0.20. And for that prize, it is a fully acceptable beer.
