Appearance: The pour is a rich golden color topped by too small of a head for a wheat beer.
For a fruit beer to work, it must meet two criteria. The fruit can't be fakey-fake and beer has to taste like a quality beer. This one delivers on both.
Smell: The nose has a mix of fresh blueberries and blueberry jam in front of soft wheat.
Taste: The flavor profile is blueberry muffin. As I let it sit on my tongue, the muffin flavor fades away, evolving into a blend of blueberry jam, a floral component, lemon zest, and mild wheat. The latter is nice, but it's not as delicious as the blueberry muffin element.
Mouthfeel: It's light to medium-bodied with soft, but lively carbonation.
Drinkability: It this the best beer in the world? No. Is a blueberry muffin beer fun to drink? Yes!

Poured from a 12 ounce bottle into a pint glass.
Pours a light to medium amber with no real white foam. Lighter berry nose. Strong blueberry wheat taste - light tartness throughout. Smooth, very little bitter. Tart close. Modest carbonation. Pretty good, but better blueberry beers out there for sure.

Appearance: Golden yellow and clear...which may confuse some as being a "wheat" beer, some may think cloudy, but not here!
Smell: Blueberry esters pretty much sums it up...whether natural or artificial; no idea, but one thing for sure...its blueberry!
Taste: Fruity blueberry taste, the taste has the potential to be something great but falls short, not the greatest build!
Mouthfeel: Thin, watery...medium light carbonation
Overall: Its the perfect "hide-a-beer" beer...a beer you can drink which others will think that you are drinking/eating something else...in this case they will think that you just finished eating a blueberry muffin! Not the greatest beer in the world but definitely fun to taste!

Grabbed this at my local Trader Joes. Poured into 10oz goblet. Poured a clean, slightly hazy, medium amber color with a very thin cap of of light tan head that immediately dissipated to a ring, thus zero retention and no lacing.
As soon as I uncapped this beer, I smelled the unforgettable scent of BooBerry cereal. Just an overly sweet blast of artificial berries that dominated even at arms length. There was no grain or malt, just syrupy sweetness. On the tongue, there was just a bit of grainy malts, other than that, just more Booberries.
The body was a bit thin and very sticky. Drinkability will depend on your tolerance for the over the top sweetness. I can only recommend this beer as a tick. If you're in the mood for this style, do yourself a favor and grab some Abita Purple Haze, a similar brew that is leagues better.

Poured into a tulip
A - a very golden color, half finger white head and no lacing
S - artificial blueberries, vomit, sour yeast and a little more vomit
T - artificial blueberry, sour grass, a hint of sugar and a funky wheat and yeast
M - No body, tons of acidity, no complexity, no finish, not at all balanced
D - if you like artificial blueberries and bud light, this shit is for you!
Final thought - Wow, I did finish it

Picked this up in Trader Joe's down in Westfield. Never had this and at $6 a six-pack, I figured that I'd give this a go. Sure enough, I got what I paid for but besides that, there wasn't a lot to write about when it came to this beer.
The pour had a decent golden hue with a fluffy head that faded fast. No lacing to be seen and not much of an aroma to write home about either. You want blueberries? They're here, with a somewhat malty base underneath it. The mouthfeel didn't have a lot of carbonation and there was a lemony and soapy feel to the beer. No tartness here either, but with something as bland as this, that was to be expected.
Lawnmower beers don't come any cheaper than this so if you're looking to down a few on a hot day like today, look no further. This wasn't the worst brew that I've had in a while but there's nothing to stand out here either. Worth a try once and it'll go into the rotation during the summer, until I run out and move onto something more enjoyable.

I enjoyed this beer from the comfort of my own living room. From the 120z bottle to a standard pint glass. Best if drank by March, 2010.
Appearance: Pours a shade slightly darker than straw yellow with a decent bubbly white head that didn't last long.
Smell: By far the best part of this beer. Nice smell of blueberries. The smell was better from the bottle than the pint glass. It all seemed to leave pretty quickly.
Taste: Flat. Pretty shocking considering this beer had an alleged shelf life of another 7 months. No taste of blueberries.
Mouthfeel: Light-bodied and crisp.
Drinkability: Difficult. Besides the initial smell and the crispness of the mouthfeel, this beer did not have anything else to offer. Probably the worst beer I've reviewed. A real let down after being at a great beer festival 2 days earlier.

Ok, being totally honest, this is probably the best way to make a blueberry beer. If you like blueberries, or fruit beers you might like this.
It is crisp, pours a nice gold color, has blueberries in the smell. The taste is crisp with a lot of blueberries in the exhale. It's not overpowering... well... okay to ME it is overpowering but in all honesty I don't think they over did it. I just personally don't like blueberries.
So. In short if you don't like blueberries this is not for you (duh, I should have guessed that. I think I would have preferred it a bit heavier, not quite so clear and crisp, maybe a bit of belgian influences would have brought this beer into a new level of appreciation.

Appearance: It has a good bronze copper color with not much for head or lace.
Smell: It has super strong blueberry smell with not much else to it maybe a little bit of wheat malt aroma in there too.
Taste: There is a very strong blueberry flavor to this beer. It is somewhat tart as well with some minuet hops tones.
Mouthfeel: I Thin and flat for the most part.
Drinkability: An alright beer to sample maybe it would be nice on dog day.

Golden color with active and heavy prickle. Wispy foam in the center of the surface. Blueberry nose. Celan attack with a faint blueberry flavor. Clean finish. Mild character of a wheat beer. Closer to a wheat than a "blueberry" beer in my opinion. I was surpised to learn that this bottled beer I found at a Trader Joe's in Woodbury, MN had come from Federal Jack's pub (or at least the same parent company) as my father always raves about Federal Jack's after his vacations up there.

Appearance: Copper body, zero head, light carbonation.
Smell: Actually quite pleasant. The blueberry is present without being overwhelming. Soft undertones of wheat.
Taste: Pretty flat. Fruit comes in at the end, otherwise akin to a light beer on par with Bud Light (shudder).
Mouthfeel: Light and sharp. Aftertaste reminds me a bit of a blueberry flavor Pop-Tart.
Drinkability: Easily drunk, easily forgotten, easily passed over next time for something with more character.

A: Golden color with very little haze at all (filtered wheat?). Strong 2-finger white head that is sure to go fast with all the bubbles I see floating to the surface. 3.5
S: Blueberry smell is strong, reminding me of blueberry pie or ice cream. Earth, lager spice aroma pairs nicely with the sweet blueberries. 3.5
T: Despite a strong bb smell, the flavor is much more subdued. Arguably, the blueberry is lesser here than in the Sweetwater blue. Wheat flavor is very mediocre with zero notes of banana or clove. Oddly, the blueberry tastes somewhat fake, like the freeze dried blueberries in a bar of white chocolate I ate recently. 3.5
M: Less texture than I would expect from a wheat but a nice summer feel. Too bad the taste lingers flatly and dryly on the tongue. 3
D: I am not particularly blown away by this beer but I am happy I tried it. I could see it being quite refreshing after mowing the lawn. 3.5

Trader Joe's has become a bit bereft of notable brews, as they continue to push their stuff. I bought a bunch of Kennebunkport beers just to try them out.
Pours a light golden color. Foamy white head. The mouthfeel is disturbingly thin and overly carbonated.
Wello, it certainly has some blueberry to it. There's some wheat backing, but the beer smells and tastes like a carbonated blueberry beverage. It definitely isn't that drinkable over the long haul with such a one-note, definitely non-beer flavor, but for a one shot deal it was refreshing.

Let me state up front, I love blueberries, so it doesn't shock me my review might be way on the high end. Picked this up at the Santa Fe Trader Joe's (their beer selection is starting to suck)
Pours peach tea color with 1 finger of white head. Below average lacing & head retention
S: Much blueberry & tartness
T: Blueberry jelly & lemony hops up front. Blue berries mellow out as this warms, along with honey malt. Finishes with a strong blueberry kick (reminds me of canned blueberries with sugar)
MF: Lively carbonation & light bodied
Drinks okay after 1 I was ready to move on. My wife dug this, I could do one on hot Summer's day or with dessert.

Picked up from trader Joes for 6 bucks.Poured a light honey color but not as bodies of course. Had a decent white head to it. Nose was grainy, a bit of wheat and blueberry. Taste was good the first few sips, blueberry came through but the more you drink the worse ti got. The grain and piss poor quality just over runs what could have been a good fruit beer.

It says Kennebunkport Brewing Co., yet the beer (as per the label) is brewed by Pugsley Brewing LLC. It's tagged here as being from Federal Jack's and it is distributed through Trader Joe's. Sounds like an Alan Smithee brew - no one wants to take credit for this lame beer. It pours a crystal-clear dark gold, with light carbonation and two inches of nearly-fluffy, whitish head. In the nose it's blueberry and a macro backing. Taste follows suit with blueberry and a faint hint of wheat - way too clean and watered-down. Tingly and light on the palate, with medium carbonation and a fleeting finish. Too flavorless and processed; pass on this one.

This is a clear miss. After having the mediocre Apricot Wheat, this is a serious step down.
The beer pours with a modest head that completely disappears. No head, no lace. The liquor is a dark gold with a slight chill haze.
The smell is not blueberry. In fact, it doesn't have any of the smells that I would expect from a beer. It smells most closely to a SweetTart. In short, I find it appealing but I nothing I'd expect from a beer.
The beer is surprisingly dry. There is little aftertaste. The body of this beer is thin. The carbonation is too great for the weight.
Without the blueberry flavor, this really lacks any redeemable qualities.

12 oz bottle poured into a pint glass. I'm sorry, but these KBC beers are the first of Trader Joe's beers that I've encountered that I find it hard to enjoy any part of, let's hope this one is different...
A: Un-wheat beer like clear pale golden color with rising bubbles and a white head that quickly dissipates to a thin film
S: As soon as you open the bottle a strong smell of not quite natural blueberries. Like someone else said, smell is best fresh.
T: Hmm, actually not as sickening or sweet as I was expecting from the smell. Tastes more like a blueberry ale than a wheat. No hops, and a little malt sweetness. Of the KBC I've tried from TJ's this is somehow least offensive so far. I certainly like this taste more than Leinekugel's Sunset Wheat (I just don't get that beer)
M: Like it looks, thin, high carbonated, slightly sweet, bready aftertaste.
D: First KBC beer from TJ I wasn't tempted to pour out. This isn't by any stretch of the imagination a good beer but it is refreshing and non-beer enthusiast friends would probably enjoy it
