This is the best beer store in CT. They have a really good import selection. The German beers are in the cooler in the far right. Belgians are on wine racks to the left of the store. There is also a better than average selection of European and Asian beers. I'm impressed with the import selection here.
Most of the six pack stuff can be found in coolers in the back. I've been here a lot and have had good luck with freshness. You can mix your own six pack, and there are more beers on the shelving. I don't think there is any place in CT that has more beers than here. They also have an impressive selection of kegs available, with some of the bigger craft breweries as well as some local stuff from Berkshire and Hooker.
There isn't much to say about the service here. I've only talked to store employees at check out, which is typical of a large liquor store. I am on the e-mail list here, which keeps me updated on the newest releases. Overall, this is a great store that I go slightly out of my way for if I'm passing by Manchester on I84.

Manchester Wine & Liquors has a very large and for the most part, up to date beer selection. There must be over 30 or 40 feet of cooler space, which over half is dedicated to craft beer, very impressive. Left hand side of the store is even more beer! This is where you can find the make your own sixer wall. Many belgians and others on wine laydown racks, it gives it a really nice look. Service isn't wonderful but luckily the beer selection is. I think just about every beer available in CT you can find here. They are my go-to store for limited releases and hard to find beers. Worth checking out for sure.

Was very impressed with this place, one HUGE aisle of craft beer, first store in CT I have ever visited, thanks to BeerFly. Went here because I called and found out they had some Stout Trooper left today, got the last bottle. Quality seemed very good overall but some of the import stuff had some dust on it, which is not always a bad thing but not always a good thing either. Selection was great, got some stuff I haven't found in MA like New England Brewing Co. and River Horse Brewing Co., also saw some smaller local stuff I had never heard of. HUGE selection of Rogue and Great Divide, even larger than Table and Vine for these two breweries, all bases are covered for Dogfish, Allagash, Rochefort, New England, Ballast Point, Oskar Blues House, Pennichuck. Had a huge wall of import stuff, Cantillon at very good prices compared to stores in MA that carry it, great find. Lots of English and German, good Belgian stuff too, seemed to have the import selection covered as well. Cooler section was good, a few items from each big American craft brewery they carry in there. Make your own six pack deal is a plus. Didn't really get offered service by anyone while I was there but the store was neat and organized, the guy also kept my Stout Trooper behind the counter when I called him earlier in the day. Store was well organized and checkout was easy, I am VERY glad I found this place.

A suggested stop by clockworkorange via naproxen.
A large store with wine/liquor on one side with an extensive beer selection in along the back (cold) and the left side of the store.I would bet that just about any brand/beer available in CT is here. The selection is somewhat mind numbing! Most things seemed well taken care of save a few dusty import bottles.
Service at the register was friendly, sure they are taking my money, but floor service was non-existent. Many times employees stocking walked right past us and never uttered a peep about help.
All in all a worthy stop...I really dont need help looking for beer anyways! Prices seemed reasonable and I sure I will return if in the area.

New job put me about 5 miles away from this place so I got a chance to try out this highly regarded store. I gotta say, this place is just gigantic. 2 long aisles and the back wall of coolers all devoted to beer. It's tough going into this place and finding a 6 pack (or two) to buy.. there's too many to choose from! I found the prices to be a little above average though, I was expecting a store like this to be on the cheaper side but it really isn't. One cool part is they have a rack in the back corner for a mix a six.... you don't get a choice of any single beer in the store to put it (they stock it with a random 30-40 beer singles of diff breweries/style) but hey, it's still pretty good.. mark up isn't too bad on these singles either. Staff seemed reasonable although I was never asked for help. Great selection, but prices seemed a tad high... also a large bottle redemption center here.

Staying in CT on business so I decided to shop this store and select a beer for the evening. Nice selection. Huge 100ft back wall of coolers. Sadly most of the space is given to the macros & six packs. 98% of the bomber selection is in one of the aisles. All of the basic Craft items. Also a decent aisle of imports to peruse. I asked a question of a gentlemen (staff) in the aisle and was given a basic answer. Nothing wrong, but nothing special either.
This is a good store to visit if you live in the area, probably not one to seek out. Again, I realize I am spoiled by my local stores in Boston.
Good spot, I will stop again when in the area.

This was our first stop on the way to EBF. Thanks to naproxen and ineedabeerhere for the recommendation. This is a rather large store. There are coolers running just about the entire length of the back wall. Here you will find a great selection of cold sixers, bombers (a large variety of Berkshire), and pre-filled growlers from Berkshire, Opa Opa, etc. The warm beer selection takes up both sides of a full aisle. It looks like just about any beer that is available in CT is represented here. I saw a few bottles past their prime, but this was an exception, not a rule. While facing the coolers, walk to your left and you will come to a a few shelves with single 12oz. bottles that you can mix-n-match into a six pack. Except for the friendly and prompt service at the register, service was non existent. Emplyees stocking the shelves walked past us many times and did not ask if we needed help one time. Prices seemed reasonable.

Pretty awesome beer store. They have a good selection of imports (Belgian, German, UK, Danish) and domestic (and locals) brews. They have tons of beer so you are guaranteed to find something new. They have a small selection of glassware (although nothing special). Mix a 6 deal for ANY 12-oz beer. Pretty good pricing too, especially for Belgians (generally). The staff has always been quite helpful if you're inquiring about a specific beer. Nothing too unique and they don't seem to get new stuff (stuff they don't already have) in that often, but like I said, there are so many bottles you are bound to find something. Check it out!

Honestly, this is my Mecca. The selection is huge. A large wall of coolers line the back of the store. Here you will find a great selection of six & twelve packs as well as some growlers from local breweries. The left side of the store is what my wife calls "the good beer aisle." They have a great organizational scheme by country. With the Americans, English, Belgians and others all grouped. If it is sold in CT they will have it. The selection can be overwhelming, so if you need a suggestion or help ask for Jimmy. The man knows what he is doing. If you sign-up for their e-mail list, you will receive an e-mail with whatever new arrivals they have (usually on Thursdays). I have shopped around for prices quite a bit in CT, and am yet to find a place that can beat them.
To sum it up, they deliver a great selection at a great price. Manchester Wine & Liquors is definitely worth the trip.

This place is great- I've been a few times and each time I see something new I want to pick up. At least 20 doors of cold case where you can pick up all the regulars you can find in CT- dogfish, magic hat, harpoon, berkshire, opa opa, etc.
The singles selection is awesome as well. On one side, they have all the american microbrews- full line of rogue, southern tier blackwater series, ommegang, etc. And on the other side are the imports. The two shelves are split by a wooden wine-style rack filled with corked and caged bottles from the likes of allagash, ommegang, and all the belgian regulars.
This is a great place, and their beer guy Jim is always more than willing to order something in for you if you ask for it (providing its available in CT). Make sure to get on their beer email list to hear about all the new releases!
