Had this recently on draft at the pub. O.G. 15.6 Plato, ABV 6.7%
First of all, technically an ale, made with a lager yeast, but this doesn't detract from the high quality and malty goodness of this brew.
A: 1" tan head which settles to a film. Good sheet lacing. Deep amber/copper color, a bit darker than BJCP guidelines, SRM came in at about 17 or 18, with BJCP range being an SRM of 7-14. Still, a very attractive look.
S: All malt here. Slightly sweet nose, no hops are perceivable, as should be the case.
T: Very malty, with some bread present. Finish is a bit drying, with some light hops, but this doesn't breach the overall malt character. Definitely on style.
MF: Feel is medium full and carbonation is medium. Nice feel overall with a very nice finish which is quite drinkable.
Overall: IMO, the best beer that Chris J. has brewed so far during his short time at CBH. This beer is a very good representation of the style, which is quite an achievement given that it is actually an ale. Very satisfying. I hope this malty beer is soon available at the new CBH in my hometown, Torrington.

A - this arrives with a autumn red with small amounts of carbonation and half a finger of tan head
S - rich malts dominate like a typical marzen, roasted and slightly nutty, this is supported by a minor but present sugary/spice notes
T - very similar to the aroma, rich autumn roasted malts, the sweetness comes out more, kind of a sweet potato/yam sweetness, a faint spice note follows up
M&D - ultra-smooth, a well brewed oktoberfest, one of the best i have had, layered and not overdone

On tap at my local brewhouse - 6.3%
Looks like a rainy fall day.
Smells like a fall harvest.
Taste is a spicy malt with a bitter backbone. Very nice.
Very smooth and balanced.
This one went down very well - not too sweet. I could go for another.

Draught @ Cambridge House: This one pours a slightly hazy, darker amber color. There was a small off-white head that left a little lacing. Malty aroma with some spiciness, earthiness and nuttiness. The taste is along the same lines: a touch of malt sweetness w/some bitterness, spices and nuttiness. Very Nice!
