Brewed for recent Wetherspoons festival. Advertised as being 'brewed in the style of a traditional imperial Russian stout but at lower-than-usual strength....' I had an ungenerous third of a pint at the Counting House in Glasgow.

A dark peaty coloured opaque beer with a fairly brown head. The nose is smoky and salty, reminding me of smoky bacon crisps. It tastes burnt (not unpleasantly so) with a hint of treacle. It leaves a long lingering aftertaste combining tar, marmite and treacle. It seems like it would be a great winter brew (I'm picturing someone huddled in a sleeping bag in front of a bothy fireplace).
