This is the least beer oriented of the three Vendomes in my general vicinity (BH, Studio City, and North Hollywood). The emphasis is decidedly on beer and fine spirits at this shop, which is not surprising considering the location. Beverly Hills is not a beer town. Anyhow, it has a better selection of most shops in the Beverly Hills area, including several Samuel Smith beers and a few Belgians. However, you can do better by heading west a little to the Wine House or Wine Expo. You can do even better by heading farther west to Beverage Warehouse. If you find yourself in need of beer in Beverly Hills, Vendome will do. However, don't bother driving out of your way in the hope of tracking down a hard to find beer at Vendome Beverly Hills.

I have ordered on-line from these guys before and had great experiences, so I decided to stop by while I was in the area.
I was left somewhat disappointed with their beer section. There was a good number of breweries and styles represented but nothing that was in any way limited or harder to find. Maybe this place gets picked over regularly, but given what has been available on-line, the in-store inventory was extremely disappointing. I picked up a few bottles but nothing all that interesting.
The service was very friendly and helpful and the prices were slightly high.

There may be other liquor store that have a larger selection or cheaper prices but there is no liquor store that does everything so well. Vendome just does every aspect of the beer business right. Their beer manager is a curator of beer. Vendome is a museum to the gods of fermentation and you will not find a more knowledgable and passionate beer curator than Long. Raid their shelfs and check their facebook page for the rare and the fresh. It is a must go to store for beer geeks

I hit up this Vendome last night since I was in the area. Inside and out, this looks like a pretty low key liquor store. Inside they have the usual stuff, including a deli area which I have never seen at any other Vendomes. Most of the beer at this location is in the coolers with only about 2 rows on the shelf. They had some beers I had never seen before that I picked up, but the selection compared to other locations (namely the Toluca Lake location) is not as good. Prices are reasonable compared to other places in SoCal. Definitely worth checking out as they do carry some gems from what I saw.

Vast improvement on the Beer selection..
Can find basically any rare beer available here.
They have a rating for almost every beer available printed out first establishment I have ever seen that has done that..
Usually I've seen that used for wines.
Make it easier for me to decide while i'm there...
Best Beer spot on the West Side. These are just a few beers I found here

I go here quite often as it is down the street from my fathers house so whenever I visit him, I stop here. The selection is pretty good and they do a good job of keeping many different breweries' beers in stock. Some rarer bottles can sit around for a while partly because of slight overpricing and also because most people in that area tend to be wine and/or hard alcohol drinkers (judging by what I normally see people buying in there). They do have a deli that I have never tried the food from. They also have a humidor with cigars that are ridiculously overpriced. The younger guy who works there (might own it?) is very nice and hooks me up when he is there. Overall good selection, nice service, not all that great of prices. I still recommend it to anyone in the area, but the other two Vendome's in the valley are better.

Visited on June 2nd, 2010.
Great selection, just as in sister store in Toluca Lake/Studio City/NoHO/Universal City/wherever the hell it actually is. Unlike sister store, this location has everything in door after door of coolers.
Overall, store is tidy and well-kept. Apparently, that's a big change from previous reviews.
Register clerk knew nothing at all about beer, but referred me to the guy in charge of beer (Edgar, I think?) who was friendly, enthusiastic and knowledgeable.
They have some events (A Firestone Walker tasting, including the divine Parabola, was happening a few days later) as well.
Prices are about in line with what one would expect from a SoCal bottle shop.
Great outpost in the mid city area with harder to find selections than your typical Whole Foods type retailer. Good humidor also, if you're into the cigar thing (as I sorta am).

This (done 03-19-10) is a complete re-write of a previous review in which my score was a B-. This place in the past year, or so, has done a complete "about face." The beer selection is wonderful and the primary "beer guy," Edgar, is very knowledgable and helpful.
The store has been cleaned up and is now very pleasant. The selection of rare beer and just of different brands has increased tremendously. This place is now not only the best place in Beverly Hills but a really good place to simply check out in the Los Angeles area.
A classic example of a greatly improved shop when someone cares enough and has their eye on the marketplace.

Nobody has reviewed this place in nearly three years, well it is still there in case anybody was wondering, stopped here driving down Olympic and seeing it out of the corner of my eye this past weekend before going to an early Christmas party and wanted to grab my girlfriend some Lindenman's Framboise but unfortunately they did not have any, just the Peche and Kriek, this one reminded me a lot of the Fullerton location but was actually worse as far as selection goes, some cool things they had were magnums of the new Anchor Xmas beeer, Sam Adams Chocolate Bock, and Port Shark Attack, other than that there was no reason for me to ever go back, place was super dirty just like the other one I had been too, floor was crusty, bottles had dust all over them and lots of it, did not seem fitting for this type of store in such a nice area like Beverly Hills, person working there had no clue about the questions I asked them but were at least nice about it, some IPAs were outdated and left outside on shelves rather than in the fridge, small amount of beer compared to the other store, other stuff you can expect to see here are the more common Belgian things like Chimay and St. Bernardus, some Port, Stone, Alesmith, and Green Flash, but none of their special offerings, very disappointed with the selection overall, I would rather drive somewhere else even if I lived nearby, so therefore I do not recommend this spot

Quality: The temperarture they store the beer at is perfect. The majority of the brews are in the cooler although some of the bigger beers are on racks.
Service: I've been to this place numerous times on or back from work and every time it seems short staffed.... whatever I can deal with this at a liquor store....a restaraunt maybe not but I can sniff my way around a liquor store and find the quality brews.
Selection: Solid for a So Cal establishment. sometimes you have to look around at the cases that are unopened out and about to find your brew of choice....everything from Stone Ruination IPA...to rogue dead guy ale , Duvel, etc. I have to say they don't get much of anything different though. Their ordering practices are pretty much set in stone. Once you've had everything they have to offer you might as well move on.
Value: Its overpriced ....alot of these beers you can find at Whole Foods/Trader Joe's. Even the liquor and Wine is overpriced but these guys make money because its in BH and you have to drive to far to find obscure wines and beers to make it worth your while. There is a small deli and food section to the right as you walk in w/ a fairly popular lunch "to/go" menu.
