Somewhat of a gusher of a can when first opened, clarity and head is great. Clean floral and mildly estery aroma and flavour. Thin malt with one simple flavour throughout. Flavours are flat and seem not to meld together well in an odd processed way. This is not my can of beer.

Presentation: 1 pint "Draughtflow System" can. Poured into a proper Imperial pint glass.

Appearance: An amber brew with slight chill haze. An amazing cascading effect produces a 1 finger thick perfect nitro-induced creamy white fluffy head that sticks to the glass and never goes away.

Smell: Clean. Faintly floral with dextrins, faint fruity esters and metallic in the aroma.

Taste: Silky. Silky smooth, soft and creamy. Body is medium. A toasty malt sweetness starts of the experience, it's thin though but gets better as the beer warms. Hops are very gentle, not overly bitter, but rather complementary, floral in taste. Hops are also slightly raw and leafy in the feel. There's some coarseness and bitty-ness that follows, along with a strong metallic flavour on the palate. This carries through into the finish as the beer dries up with a mouthful of strong grain tannins and a grain husk/powdery feel.

Notes: Not a dreadfully bad brew. It's rather mild, making it an okay session bitter for fans. However, the metallic and grain tannin aftertaste is a bit much for my palate and rather annoying. The aftertaste literally murders this beer. I wouldn't purchase this beer for my own consumption.

And, too bad about the nitro. Nitro beers, in general, tend to mask a lot of the beers character ... which is why most nitro beers share common characteristics, regardless of their style.

All this gets in my book is points for appearance. You should probably open this over a sink. Good clear honey brown with a permanent dense foamy head.
From there it becomes an extremely one dimensional beer. Not much aroma. Pale malts and a little honey sweetness. The taste is virtually nonexistent and leaves a metallic aftertaste. Other than the thick creamy head this feels flat and watery. Wouldn't get again

A- pale (pale ale duh!) love the way this beer looks 16oz can with the nitro widget. 2 finger head that clings to one side when drinking.

A- pale malts, butter, mineral water.

T- a smooth flat taste, metal bitter pale malt flavor, with a biscuit butter dash in the end.

M- smooth creamy flavor. best part of the beer is the nirto can that give it great mouthfeel.

O- this beer would problay fall flat if not for the nirto can. its pretty basic with a strange metal malt flavor most of ur bmc,ers would problay get turned off by. but i see what flavor this is here and for the style is pretty good.

I like Boddingtons... I really do, but I will say that it is MUCH better on tap than out of those cans. My review is for the draft Boddingtons.

I had Boddingtons the other day at my local English Pub. It pours golden with a large foamy head that sticks around.. the smell is not so great, but it looks impressive. The taste, like the smell is not overwhelmingly impressive due to its simplicity, but is still quite good. But the mouthfeel of this beer makes it one of my favorites... It slides down your throat thickly, like a milkshake, but doesn't leave any lingering bitterness or nasty mouthfeel.

All in all I enjoy Boddingtons, as it is one of the few decent English beers I can get on tap in Southern California.
