Rohrbach Black IPA is brownish black, almost opaque with a dense khaki head that leaves very nice lacing. There's lots of citrus peel in the aroma. It also smells of dark malt with notes of caramel and maybe chocolate-- mostly citrus, though. It' medium bodied, smooth and soft. The dry finish is slightly chalky. It's well balanced. The malt is mostly caramel. There's an ample citrus bitterness. It comes off as a little fruity with a little ash in the aftertaste. Everything has been brought up a notch with this new recipe. This hits the style squarely.

Served on tap at Hot Shots in a plastic glass. It's a volleyball bar, what do you want?

Nice blackish color with a tan head. Looks like a porter but since it's an IPA it should have some lacing. It doesn't.

Next to nothing on the nose, but it does taste good. I was just hoping for some more hops.

Trying to keep it local and I will continue to do so, but not wIth this beer.
