750 mL bottle poured into a snifter.
Appearance - No head on a clear reddish brown body. Lifeless.
Smell - Chardonnay bomb. Intense barrel character. Vanilla and oak permeate. Caramel. Not really any acidity.
Taste - Much more sour here, but not intense. Strong white wine again. Caramel and vanilla. Follows the nose, but the cherries come out in the end. The back end dries out and leaves diacetyl and white wine.
Mouthfeel - Dry, medium bodied. Easy to drink. Medium carbonation.
Overall - Better than I expected. Out of proportion on many flavors, like the wine barrel.

750 ml C&C bottle, shared by fbc24. Thanks Frank!
A: Semi-hazy reddish/pink colored body with an instantly dissipating white head. Thin retention ring and no true lacing.
S: Cherry, sour notes but nothing over the top, oak, funk and lemon.
T: Softer on the sour front than I expected, but still a good amount there. Nothing too puckering. Plenty of cherry with dominant oak on the back-end which seemed to dry it out quite a bit.
M: A bit under-carbonated. For the style, I would like a touch more carbonation. Dry, as noted.
Really a nice, flavorful cherry-forward Wild Ale. Flanders Red? Eh, not too sure about that.

2011 vintage. Poured from a 750 ml cork n cage bottle into a D'Achouffe tulip.
A- pours a pinkish/amber with a 1 finger off-white head. Minimal lacing.
S- sour cherries, some vinegar, oak.
T- pale malts, vinegar, sour cherries, oak and some earthiness.
M- light body and medium carbonation. Some acidity but not as effervescent or carbonated as many other sours.
O- 6/10 sourness. Good sour, but not very complex. Some sour cherries with a little vinegar and that's about it.

750mL corked and caged bottle poured into a tulip. Thanks Andy for the bottle!
(A)- Pours a clear reddish amber color. Some white froth formed that dissipated quickly.
(S)- A nice potent vinegar-like oak character up front. Bits of cherry pits in the background.
(T)- Similar to the smell. A great combo of a sharp vinegar-like acidic bite and subtle cherries behind it that meshes into a dry oaky finish.
(M)- A nice carbonation level and balance. I like the dynamic sourness and oak/fruit without it melting your face off.
(O)- Excellent drinkability and fits the style very well particularly for an american made one. I had this a few times on tap as well a year or so before this was bottled and the sourness has definitely been kicked up a notch or two since but very happy to see the oak and fruit is still present too. Very much looking forward to seeing what else Central Waters does with their sour program considering this was their first entry essentially.
