this just came into chicagoland. cant wait to try it. the label says it was bottled in march. drank from my samuel adams perfect pint glass.
A- the pour yields a translucent light copper colored body with the slightest haze to it. there is a finger of off white head on top that takes its time falling. small rings of lacing are left behind. very nice.
S- the nose is very heavy on the hops. lots of grapefruit and pineapple. there is some pine in here as well. some sweet caramel malts move in towards the end that attempt to add some balance here, but fails. a little bit of alcohol sneaks in to finish this off.
T- the taste starts out with the sweet caramel malts that i could smell. they function as a sweet backbone for the following barrage of hops. very heavy on the citrus. pineapple and grapefruit galore. there is also a lesser amount of piny hops. a little bit of alcohol at the end.
M- the body is on the upper end of full. the carbonation is just right for the style. nice and bitter. leaves my mouth feeling dry. there is also a little warming from the alcohol.
O- this beer reasserts my feeling greatfull that central waters is finally in illinois. if this was year round, i would love to add it to my regular rotation. this beer is also already almost 3 months old...i cant wait to try it again fresh off the bottling line.

50th review! Thanks, to Shagens for the extra!
A - Straw colored and slightly hazy. Small big bubble head
S - Gummy sort of mint. Sweet. Big "mixed fruit" sort of notes. Hay-ish. Hop oil
T - Viscous sort of sweetness. Notes of chartreuse, orange, tequila, vanilla. A good amount going on, but it is subdued.
M - Good body, not too heavy. Alcohol is totally in check for 9%.
Overall, pretty good. Well crafted, but in the ever growing world of DIPA's it is not that memorable

Beautiful cascading copper rush pour effect with a generous one inch fluffy white head.
Aroma a bit of a letdown--not much for me except muted tropical fruit.
Taste is very one dimensional. All bitter white grapefruit with mediocre malt filling. Nothing even remotely sweet for balance.
Medium body and decent carbonation. Bitterness lingers.
Taste and smell are everything and this is average at best. This should not be touted in 4 pks almost as if its an exclusive find. Store I purchased this from has always been fair in pricing, but this comes in @ $11/4PK...overpriced IMO. I could only drink one and then move on. I will not purchase again.
