despite what the folks here say, this beer is wonderful. label must have changed this year, and maybe with it the recipe, because the critiques i read here do not seem at all valid to me. maybe i just got a really fresh one, i dont know, but i liked it a lot. pours clear golden color with a lacey and sticky white head with perfect retention. the smell is fresh hops, floral and oily, very little bitterness presents itelf. malt bill is light, pale and crystal malts, barely a crutch for the hops to lean on. flavor lines up with the nose, hoppy all the way through, but more it a light grassy to fruity way, rather than bitter at all. clean and bright in the finish, sessionable forever. this may be a little light for some american pale drinkers, but i found its fresh pep and light malt complex just right for a sunday afternoon of football. light light body, but big on flavor. strong but not overkill on the carbonation, and overall an impressive introduction to central waters brewing for me. wish i had more than one of these.

a beautiful clean amber pour with 2 fingers of sticky off white head which caused great lacing. smells of pine, soap, caramel, grapefruit, peaches. a bitter piney hop flavor up front, changing into a floral hoppy taste, more piney bitterness follows and a sweet malty flavor/bitterness lingers in the back. medium body, creamy mouthfeel, nicely carbonated.
a very nice wet hopped ale. very piny, and bitter yet sweet and tasty! not bad by any means!

Central Waters is using fresh hops from Wsiconsin and the Midwest Hops and Barley Co-op. Glad to see that.
The pour is light amber to golden. Thick head has staying power. Provided some nice lace.
Nose is bit understated for style - grassy, a bit of carmel malt.
Entry is fairly full and builds out nicely. Flavor of carmel malts, floral, perfumey hops, grass. Snappy bitterness, but balanced beer. Biscuit flavor midmouth. I like the flavor profile of the hops. It is not a northwest "C" hop blast, but a unique Wisconsin indiginous flavor. Spicy and floral.
We need more of this type of beer! It is local and fresh. It brings local flavor to the market, delivered well. Nice effort.

Poured from 22oz bottle into CBS snifter. Served chilled...
A) A deeper amber with a little haze. This had 2 fingers of foam, which settled quickly to a thin dusting. Good amount of lacing.
S) Mild aroma of grass, light flower petal, orange peel shavings. Faint sweetness in the background.
T) A very grassy flavor, earthy hops, lots of citrus bite, light malt sweetness attempts to balance this one out.
M) A lighter medium body, with moderate carbonation. The citrus zest lingers on the palate. It's a crisp brew with a slightly dry finish.
O) I was looking forward to trying this one out, and while it wasn't a total disappointment, it was not up to snuff in comparison to several other wet hop brews I've had the pleasure of drinking recently. On the plus side, there's nothing offensive about this beer, and it is pretty easy drinking. It was worth a try...

A: light copper color. Ever so slight haze. Forms a moderate bright white head. Very light lacing.
S: light, but bright. Light aroma of caramel malts, followed by bright citrus aroma. Grapefruit, with a little touch of lemon.
T: light toasty malts. Citrus hops, mostly grapefruit. A pleasant flavor, but very light.
M: on the lighter side of medium. Good, sparkly carbonation. Mild, but persistent bitterness comes across stronger than it is on the light body.
O: a nice beer. Very drinkable.

22 oz. bottle shared by nuplastikk. Thanks Greg!
The beer is mostly clear, with only a slight haziness, appearing orange to maber hued with a small white head. The aroma offers some tangy citrus, namely grapefruit amd orange. Lightly floral with an odd bitterness in the finish. Flavors don't work in tandem with one another. Light to medium in body. Overal, this was just eh...not a repeat for me.

Pours out a hazy golden-amber color with two fingers of soapy head on top with remarkable stability for about three minutes and some very pretty patterns of lace left behind on the inside of the glass. Lighter body and crisp, sharp carbonation, perhaps a tad spritzy.
Smells and tastes of fresh, green, leafy hops with mostly herbal and grassy qualities, but not very much in terms of resinous or citric hopping, which makes the spectrum feel slightly unfinished overall. The malt backbone is a pretty standard pale / cracker combo. I would have preferred somewhat more complexity than this. It's a really good looker in the glass, though!

Poured from bomber into Duvel tulip. Two separate pours, one out of fridge and one after sitting out for about a half hour. No real difference between the two in my eyes and palette.
A: Dark orange with a small white halo of head. Decent amount of particles in the pour. Not offputting, but nothing extraordinary here either.
S: For a wet hop, where are the hops? Trying really hard to find it, but I'm smelling a lot of earth and malt. No citrus, no pine. Disappointing based on expectations.
T: Same as smell. This may be a solid pale ale, but I'm picking up really nothing from the hops. I really had hoped for more, but it's certainly not a bad beer by any means.
M: May be the most solid part of the beer. Very easy drinking and palatable. If this wasn't in bomber form, I could see putting a number of these back without thinking twice about it.
O: I need to stop going into new beers with high expectations. No other way of putting it...I'm let down with this one.
