12oz 2012 bottle poured into a tulip.

A- Pours a hazy light brownish-amber color with a nice light cream 2 finger head though hold tight. Very Foamy lacing with great retention.

S- Vanilla, toffee, bourbon, caramel, brown sugar, booze, ripe plum, little oak and raisin. This is an amazing smelling beer.

T- Follows the nose nicely. Lots of rich vanilla, toffee, dark fruit and oak. The alcohol is a little hot but still smooth with a crisp burn.

M- Viscus and smooth. Light carbonation with good drinkability. Not a session beer by any means but not to heavy where it's a one and done.

O- This is by far one of the top barrel aged Barley Wines in my opinion. It has all the components that I look for in this style. With some age I believe the heat will be subdued and this will truly become an amazing offering.

2013 Vintage

I was expecting more bourbon based on the reviews I've read here, but was a little disappointed by the lack of this. It's a smooth barleywine but I would not say this is a bourbon bomb by any means.

Solid barleywine, would drink this again

I like bourbon barrel aged anything, but CW goes way too far over the top with this beer. There is literally no beer flavor, its just bourbon nose, bourbon taste, bourbon finish.

I you LOVE bourbon this is YOUR beer. The bourbon is overwhelming. Its just booze, vanilla, and bourbon through and through. Very unbalanced. (this could be a good thing if you love bourbon)

Overall, if you cant get enough bourbon in your beer, this is for you. If you like a more balanced barrel flavor, there are better choices.
