A - Pours very dark brown. Comes close to black in some places. Cola notes show around the edge. It's a little on the light side for a double / imperial stout. The tan head tops out at just under a finger and sticks around for about a minute. Lacing is pretty spotty and scarce.
S - Milk chocolate really comes through pretty quick. Cocoa follows. Some burnt wood notes dance around the middle. Alcohol and vanilla barely show up at the very end. It's nice but one dimensional. Chocolate takes over and never lets go.
T - Now, this is getting much better. Bakers chocolate starts it off. Bourbon heat is present throughout and acts as a nice backdrop for the other flavors. Nice smokey charcoal middle that comes across as kind of muted. It's nice though. A little more chocolate Finishes it all up. Coffee doesn't really show up until it comes closer to room temperature. Even then, it's very faint.
M - Medium bodied with a medium carbonation level. Finish is relatively dry and hangs out on the palate for a while.
D - This is a solid brew that the folks at Central Waters have come up with. This one is easy sip on and enjoy over an extended period of time. That doesn't really change the overall drinkability in any way. The aroma was really a slight let down but not by much as it was still good. I could definitely have this beer again and if I get the chance, I will.

Raul picked up this thang as an extra in a trade - shout out to tha homie for being Mother Theresa like.
Raul was pumped at first; looks like a nice stout, smells even nicer than my baby mama after a quick spritz, but unlike said baby mama, the taste... Woo doggy! A bit sour, a bit funky, and a bit of. Taste like Raul's baby mama this does not. It just leaves this residual nastiness on the tongue...
Raul does not approve.
*was this infected? So weird.

A - Pours a dark brown with a one inch brown-fine head with good retention.
S - Coffee, wood, slight bourbon.
T - Acidic wood, tart. Possible infection?
D - Good carbonation with a medium to heavy body.
O - Coffee, bourbon, and barrel? Yes, infected? No!? Drinkable none the less.

Appearance: Pours with a light to medium body for an imperial stout. Solid head with an off white/tan color. Head was present on the edges of the glass.
Smell: Dark chocolate, bourbon, and vanilla on the front of the aroma. Coffee, toffee, and some dark hops on the body. Has all the checkpoints I look for but lacks truly elite depth that one would find in the truly amazing stouts.
Taste: Dark hoppy tones slip their way in right off the front of the beer. The a very strong body with coffee and dark chocolate being the main players. The finish is vanilla and bourbon which is my favorite part of this beer. The depth is much strong here, really excellent.
Mouthfeel: Smooth and creamy. The vanilla and bourbon accents really even out the mouthfeel.
Overall: I've heard a lot about this beer and I was very happy to finally get to try it. No doubt can fulfill even the most picky stout fans. Seems to be just off of the great stouts but is no doubt a great brew.

A: A black pour with a very large and dense medium brown head. Head fades away very very slowly. Very nice head retention with lots of thin smudges of lacing everywhere.
S: Mild bourbon with some toffee and caramel along with a bunch of roasted coffee. A little vanilla too. Nice combination. Burnt marshmallow as it warms up. Even nicer.
T: Sweet caramel and vanilla and marshmallow up front transitioning into a nice bitter coffee bean. Chocolate and caramel in the middle and finish. Mild bitter chocolate and coffee lingers after each sip along with some surprisingly drying oak and a little vanilla.
M: Heavy, thick, smooth.
O: A very nice brew. It's decadently sweet in some areas and quite bitter in others, finally very dry in the end. Nice journey of sensations. Bourbon treatment is not overpowering in this one, just complementary but still strong enough to withstand the somewhat strong coffee flavors. Nice balance overall and quite tasty.
