Thanks to Reed415 for this.

A - Pours a delicious black color with a modest tan head. Less lacing than I would expect from an RIS, but very nice none the less.

S - Lots of chocolate and molasses. A hint of raisin and some nice hop aroma.

T - Very nice. Lots of chocolate and a surprising amount of hop bitterness. Still some raisin and maybe a hint of gingerbread. Bitter finish lasts forever and alcohol is barely perceptible.

M - Thick and creamy with nice carbonation. Very pleasant.

D - While this doesn't quite live up to some of the greats (KBS, Abyss, Stone) it's an excellent Impy. Recommended.

August 2012 bottle, tasted April 2013

A: Very dark brown, almost black, with a two fingered tan head that quickly recedes.

S: Roasted malts, chocolate with hints of vanilla. There's also some hints of alcohol.

T: Initially it's strong with chocolate and caramel, but that ends pretty quickly and you get very strong roasted malt flavors with just a hint of the prior sweetness remaining.

M: Nice carbonation, it feels very light for being a stout.

O: Overall I like it quite a bit. If the finish wasn't quite so roasty, I'd like it even more, but it's a very good beer that I'll certainly look for when the winter comes around.
