2011 vintage
Appearance- dark brown with some reddish tones. A couple cm of head that disappears to almost nothing.
Smell- the first smell was a blast of whiskey but there are also strong chocolate notes as well. Smells awesome.
Taste- a lot of bourbon, some chocolate and maybe a little coffee. Seems like a different taste shines through with every sip which is nice. Slightly boozy finish. If I could I'd give it a 4.8.
Mouthfeel- a little on the thin side but still manages to be creamy.
Overall- I picked up a 4 pack to throw a couple in the cellar but I might drink them all and go pick up another while they're still in stock!

Sampled from a 12ox bottle. Thanks Surge1311! Jet black with no light coming through and a small beige head. This is much more balanced than their BA Barleywine. The bourbon and beer play well together. The aroma tends toward bourbon but the flavor is much more balanced. The bourbon is there but the stout holds its own. Nice creaminess and satisfying flavor. Well done.

A-Pours a dull black color with a thin, toffee colored head and poor retention. Leaves faint lacing around the edge of the glass.
S-Dark fruits, cherries, vanilla, bourbon, and faint notes of a zesty spice
T-A bit boozy at the front but ti finishes with a nice note of the dark fruits and vanilla. The booze comes back in a lingering aftertaste
MF-Watery, carbonated but not too bad. Too crisp for a stout. Needs more smoothness.
O-A good BBA stout. Not great, but something I'm definitely glad I tried and would buy again if I saw it.

2012 vintage - 12oz bottle served in a snifter.
L - black with a foamy beige head that hung around for quite a while.
S - the bourbon is the star with some roasted malt sitting in the background.
T - a little more roastiness and chocolate comes out in the taste but the bourbon still lets itself be known finishing dry and warming.
F - medium/full bodied with a silky smooth feel. It goes down easy, so take it easy.
O - a most enjoyable sipper.
