Visited Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010 at lunchtime.
Stadium Brewing is in an anonymous Orange County shopping plaza, deep into the back corner and far off the main road. There is an outdoor patio, a bar area and a dining room. The decor is macro brewery promotion style/sports bar in the bar area; I can't comment on the dining room as I sat on the patio.
It was an overcast, cool day. On warmer days, the patio is probably the place to be. Still, there were plenty of young, attractive persons dining in and hanging out in the fountain-equipped plaza just beyond the patio railing, so it wasn't all bad.
The menu leans towards modern California cuisine, which is to say it features items of Asian, Mexican and European origins as filtered through a West Coast sensibility. I ordered the chicken citrus salad, which was tasty and decently executed. My fellow beer explorer ordered a Cobb salad which he deemed equally acceptable.
Prices were a little steep (my salad was $12.00), but not out of control. Two salads, two beer tasters and two desserts with tip was $62.00.
Service was prompt, accurate and friendly. No complaints.
The beer was average at best - I have individually reviewed all seven on tap when I visited elsewhere on this site.
Overall... I drove from the San Fernando Valley all the way down to Aliso Viejo in my ongoing quest to try all craft beers brewed in the tri-county area (L.A./Orange/Ventura). It wasn't worth the trip.

This isn't really a brewing company. It's basically a restaurant/sports bar that happens to brew some beer. Their Bud Light and liquor sales far and away surpass their own beer sales.
Lame Bud/Miller/Coors advertising all over the place.
Service has always been good, and the food is decent, but their beer is pretty awful. Staff knows nothing about beer. You can tell it is all about margins - all of the beers are thin, hardly any hops, and are brewed with the same yeast strain. The result is a handful of below average beers, all tasting the same, in various shades of color from yellow to brown. They do float some blueberries around in one of them if that's the type of gimmick that excites you.
The one saving grace is they do get some good micros on tap (Double Jack, Racer 5, etc.) so they have that going for them.
When I moved to Aliso I was excited to hear there was a brewery in town, but was ultimately disappointed.
Stop in if you're in the shopping center, but don't waste a trip specifically for this place.

Not one of my regulars. Usually just hit this place up if we are early for a movie (about 200 feet from the theatres).
Beer is all average. Seems like more of a meet market than a place to have a quality beer. For some reason I'm thinking pints were a decent price if you go on the right day. Don't remember which day that is, and don't really care. From what I remember they have your typical run of the mill offerings. Pale/Wheat/Stout/Red/Fruit that most brewpubs tend to have. I think there were some TVs inside, so you could catch a game while there.
I wouldn't go out of your way to drink at this place. But if you get lost, end up in Aliso Viejo, then you may as well hit this place up.

My first and last visit to this place. Unless someone let's me know there is a really good beer on tap that would make it worth the trip.
I came here after going to the movies right there in the same shopping center. Two of us got beers because we have been wanting to stop in and at least try something. The "oatmeal stout" was very thin for an oatmeal stout and tasted as if they were being stingy on the ingrediance required to make this beer great. It was very boring and almost tasted like an Irish dry stout. My buddy got an amber that tasted cheap also. No good flavors at all.
The whole place smelled musty. Like an old wet towel. Maybe this is because of the brewery being right behind the bar. Maybe they don't bleach as much as they should.
The bartender was cute. She lookd as if she knew nothing about beer and didn't seem to really know anything when we ordered.
I will not be coming back. Oh well, not all businesses can be great I guess.

You won't see it from street view, as Stadium Brewing is hidden in the back of the shopping center it's part of. Look for the converging of a movie theater and a fountain, then find yourself a parking space and walk on in.
The inside is modern but non-descript and the atmosphere isn't going to raise your adrenaline. And based off the one beer I had, the beer may not do the trick either. What's more likely to do that is the cheerful and helpful bartender I had, a selection of eight house brews, and good food. They have a few guest beers too, but it's all mass-produced beer. I do have to say their BBQ Canadian Bacon Cheeseburger was very good, but it came to $10. My house brew, the Bohemian Pilsner, came out to a reasonable high-endinsh $5 for the pint, but the quality was so-so at best.
The other beers may get a chance someday, but it's more likely to be the food which brings me back. Though being over a half-hour from my house, I could do just as well locally.

I have to say... this is a pretty good brewery. We used to get together with the family and eat here. I personally only like their pumpkin ale. But they do have good food. Try the chicken wings if you get a chance!
And the location is pretty cool too. The movie theatres are close by. Some cool little shops.
TRAFFIC SUCKS! If you're going to go on a Friday or Saturday night... good luck finding a place to park!
The service has always been really good and at the bar, the bartenders hook you up if they get tipped well.
But overall... I like the place and recommend it.

I came here around 3pm on Martin Luther King day so it was quite dead. As i came to the front entrance, they had two good size patios on each side of the entry, with heat lamps, over looking a nice quaint square with a fountain. Sitting out here could be sweet on a hot summer day... however, it was cold and overcast when i went.
Inside to the left is the bar area where i sat. It was a bit small but had nice decor. A little sporty with a clean look about it. The brewing tanks were visible to the side of the bar area. It was a little to dark for me. Not as in dimly lit but more like they forgot to turn on the lighting, but nice overall.
the service was there but nothing above par. I ordered the brew sampler and it came with a pale, amber, hefe, nut brown, blonde lager, fruit beer, and porter. There needs to be an IPA here. I recall the description of their hefe said i could detect slight banana/clove notes. Well, that didnt happen because there was a lemon floating in my beer. I had them give me a new one without the lemon. Unfortunately, the hefe was very average and i didnt detect much of any spice.
Overall their beers were very average. Not bad but not good. Actually the Pale ale was on the not too good side but their chocolate porter was on the much better side. I'd order that again. They also have a fruit beer which was pretty good. Blueberry in this case with actual blueberries floating around.
The food was really good. It's on the gourmet/fusion side and i had the fish and chips. Quite crunchy outside and moist fish inside. Plump and very tasty. The tarter sauce was like a blue cheese tarter or something... damn good. If you want to enjoy good beer, then go to Oggi's or BJ's. However, this place isnt bad to have a bite to eat and sit outside.

This place is awful. Their pale ale is probably the worst beer I've had in a long time. My guess is they're pitching a dry yeast. At 4.50 a pint, they can keep it. This place would be good for someone to learn how to taste beer. The pale ale I had will tainted with cidery off flavours, more than likely due to yeast. BJ's offers a consistent product. It would be interesting to have a pint of Piranha tasted next to pint of the swill these people call a pale ale. I believe even a novice could tell the difference.

Decent but not for the hophead. They have a variety of beers on tap, but the Pale Ale is watery with moderate hop flavor and no IPA on tap. Stadium is more of an option for the novice beer drinker or those favoring lighter beer styles. Given that IPAs and other hop heavy beers are ubiquitous in the OC, I would go elsewhere. BJs, Oggis, Back Street and even Yard House are better options in the area.
I will say that it has a great atmosphere and upscale menu. I had a great Salmon Caesar here once.

Hard to find spot, but worth an effort. Good selection of house brews. Set to one side of a mall complex, it is near the cineplex. Large open curved windows frame the brewery equipment to passersby as well as to the bar patrons. Super nice covered outside seating areas. Good service, but better for locals they already know than for travelers. Smallish bar for the size of the store - tough to get a seat there.
