Pours a murky amber producing 2 fingers of frothy, moderately lasting, off-white head that leaves a webby coating of lace. Aroma is a balance of humidor cedar wood, floral & orange hoppiness & caramel malt with tangerine & peach in the background. Taste is caramel malt & a fruity mix of orange, tangerine, grapefruit, pineapple, peach, & some pine resin in the finish which becomes very forward in the aftertaste. More sweet than bitter up front but transitioning to bittersweet at mid-sip from where is rapidly gravitates to bitter in the finish producing a very lasting, bitter citrus but predominantly pine aftertaste. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation, slick &slightly prickly but dry, especially in the latter half of the swallow. Labels can sometimes be misleading but but the use of the word "symmetry" in the brewery description is dead on in terms of hop bitterness & caramel malt sweetness. Not complex but a very drinkable IPA.

A little darker appearance bordering on amber ale territory, didn't help that the malt was the aroma forward aspect of this too, similar to an amber ale.

Taste brought a slight hop edge to it. Still had those red/woody malt flavors going. No bottle date, could be an old bottle. Speaking of which, the alcohol kept getting hotter as it warmed. If you're into a hybrid amber and pale ale kind of hoppiness, this might excite you, otherwise, pretty average stuff.

Mostly clear darker copper, tan frothy head of good retention. Aromas of caramel, raisin, citrus, resin, and rind. On the palate a very crackery or biscuity base, some tartness throughout. Resin, rind, leafiness, and peppercorn as it lingers and with the finish. Medium-bodief, slick, refreshing, medium and somewhat soft carbonation.
