A- Dark like my soul, with a decent head.
S- Roasty, like smelling an iced coffee.
T- Like drinking a cold, carbonated Americano... with no water. Starts really strong upfront, but there is something lacking and light in the aftertaste.
M- Despite the flavors of a stout, it feels far lighter in your mouth. Not so bad that I wouldn't drink it, but disappointing nontheless.
O- Coffeeish.

P: Almost pitch black body with a tan micro bubble head.
S: Sweet milk chocolate, molasses, fig pudding, burnt barley and fruit roll ups.
T/M: Chocolate, stale coffee, and sweet dark fruit jam. Oddly present tartness, cherry cola, burnt molasses, burnt barley and finishes dry with long lingering cigar smoke coverage. Body is more light and carbonated than expected.
O: Tartness is really throwing this off. The aroma is very nice and well blended. I could smell this for hours. For the price tag this is not something I would ever purchase again but I enjoyed the experience.

BB 08/2014
Beer is black, perhaps with some dark brown hints. Small tan head on top. Good retention.
Smell contains roast malt, coffee. A bit of a dark fruit scent, but not anything in particular.
Taste is very thin. Some roast malt, a bit of coffee. Relatively bitter. Again, a slight bit of dark fruit, almost grape in flavour. A bit astringent.
Quite light in body, moderately carbonated. A thin beer.
Overall, not what I would expect from Dupont. An OK stout, nothing exciting but quite drinkable.

Bottle from the Dupont LCBO feature, and the weakest though most unique offering.. Body looks like a nitro black. Faint roastiness, more molasses taste. A weaker stout for sure. So-so drinkability, and dare I say a little thin.A little bitter but not interesting.Watered down coffee substitute.

330ml Bottle from the Ottawa LCBO for $3
Appearance - Dark brown colour with an average size fizzy/frothy beige head. I can't make out the amount of carbonation showing and there isn't much lacing. The head lasted for 3-4 minutes before it was gone.
Smell - Malts, chocolate, grains
Taste & Mouth - There is an average amount of carbonation and I can taste malts, chocolate, and coffee. There are also some smokey/burnt notes and a bit of a nuttiness. It ends with a chocolatey/watery aftertaste with a lingering roasted coffee bitterness.
Overall - Not really a stout.. Maybe more like a Schwarzbier. Anyways, I expected more from this brewer. Still decent, just needs more flavour and less of a watery feel.

A: BLACK, can't see any hues through it. Nice thick head that is off white and then settles to a thin film and a nice rim around the glass.
S: Coffee, chocolate, black cherries, some sour notes.
T: Some sourness present, strong coffee in the back of the pallet, smoky chocolate, cherries again.
M: Well carbonated for a "belgian stout". Medium-full body.
O: I just love the flavours of this beer. Some belgian notes are well present.

Poured into a Leffe goblet. Dark caramel chocolate in colour, with about a half inch of fluffy head that settles into a very thin ring. Some not overly pleasant flakes of sediment swirl around the glass before finally settling. Not the most attractive brew out there.
Nose isn't bad - dry roasted grain, a bit of fruit - cherry or strawberry - with a mild sweetness and a hint of Belgian yeast. Smells like a Belgian dark ale, which is more or less what I had expected.
But boy does it not taste like one. Extremely dry, tart, almost citric, which utterly dominates the brew, leaving little else for the taste buds to detect. It was okay for the first few sips or so, but man the finish really drags on. Very, very dry with a Belgian yeast component. Mouthfeel is certainly of the Belgian variety, and is lighter bodied and a bit slick.
It was intended to be a British-Belgian stout hybrid (I think), but the end result was certainly far less than the sum of its parts. Not a fan of this brew at all, which is a shame, as I was really looking forward to this. Don't think I'll be drinking this again.

Brownish ruby body, ring of tan head, not much lace to speak of. A bit of roast, smokey with some darker fruits, fairly odd smelling, yeasty and a lingering note of plastic that seems to persist. Taste has a bit of smoke and charred/ashy flavours as well, dark fruits with a bit of an odd bitterness as well here. High carbonation, light bodied, below average feel for a stout. Really quite unimpressive, not quite a stout and not quite a dark belgian, too many odd smells and flavours to make this enjoyable.

Bottled stamped 08/2014.
(4.0) A: Pitch black with a crimson edge. A bubbly mocha coloured head that lingers for a while and clings to the glass well.
(4.0) S: Quite a strong aroma as I could smell this when it opened. Dark cocoa powder, darker fruits (plums, raisins, fig), and quite a bit of smoke. Definitely belgian-y.
(3.5) T: A slightly odd tart lemon-lime pie controls the taste with some roasted malt notes which follow. Smokey finish. Lightly bitter with equal dryness.
(3.5) M: Light bodied with a higher carbonation. Fairly thin with a bit of slickness.
(3.5) D: Was pretty pumped to try this as part of the Dupont LCBO release but I don’t think I will be revisiting this one. Appearance and aroma were nice but the taste was too sour for my stouts and mouthfeel left a bit to be desired.

Dupont release at the LCBO.
Decent price, didn't see the ratings before buying... fingers crossed.
Dark brown, almost black pour with a fizzy, short lived light tan head. Lacing is minimal.
Some chocolate and coffee, a touch of soda and some dark stone fruits. Sweet biscuits and brown sugar. There is a touch of smoke in the back end.
Dark roasted malts, sweet biscuits, slight metallic taste with something that resembles peanuts.
Light body, high carbonation.
This wasn't terrible, but it wasn't fantastic. This had flavors and aromas that I never imagined or thought would ever go in a bottle. I guess I have some learning still to do.
