Pours out a hazy bright orange with a foamy white head.

Smell. Lightly spiced, but also has a distinct tartness to it that is present but not by an means overwhelming. In bigger whiffs i get a little sweetness that kinda reminds me of a marshmallow.

Taste. The spice and tartness comes through in the flavor, but nothing is overpowering. I would saw that tartness flavor is on the dominant side though. Does not have much of a sweetness to it. The flavor seems delicate and malts remind me a little of a lager flavor. Aftertaste remains with the tart flavor.

Mouthfeel. Body is crisp, but the alc seems to give it a good and medium mouthfeel. Good amount of carbonation and nice balance.

Overall, a nice saison. I have been wanting to try it for so long, and i think my expectation for it was too high as it didnt meet it. I certainly do like it, and think its a good saison, but i think there are some out there that i tend to favor more.

A - Pours a hazy pale orange colour, thumb of head with solid retention and some nice sporadic lacing.

S - Heavy skunk, fruity citrus, orange rind, hints of spice with pepper, coriander and lemon on the finish.

T - Much like the nose, the heavy skunk unfortunately dominates, the sour citrus comes through alongside some funky yeast, with a lemon iced tea and hints of lemon drops with a peppered finish.

M - Medium bodied, smooth and wet.

O - I had read that there could be infected or skunky batch floating around the LCBO, and unfortunately I think I was subject to this aforementioned group. That being said, a flavourful brew was detectable amidst the skunk. I would give this brew another chance, but unfortunately I know my local LCBO likely won't be privy to another batch.

Best Before end of 06/2015
A:big fluffy head, golden honey
S: direct, fresh citrus rind, unripe peach, pear
T: so delicate and fresh without any off character right through to the end. Like it dances high on the palate. The flavour is not broad or overly complex. Like tasting a young Pinot Noir. Amazing that a beer could be so delicate. Just a touch of bitterness in the finish.
M: very light bodied and fresh. Carbonation is tight and well balanced like champagne.
O: I wish I would have let this beer age longer. It tastes tight and "hard" now and would perhaps broaden with some age. Still, a wonderfully delicate beer. It went perfect with our fusili with fresh uncooked tomato, basil, garlic sauce & pine nuts.
