750ml bottle, best before september 2017
A- Dark golden colour, quite murky/hazy. Huge, bubbly, soft-looking white head, great persistence through the last sips, suprinsigly it does not leave that much lacing
S- Definitely a sweet malt base, maybe some sugar in the mix. Strong yeasty presence, bringing an earthy/barnyard kind of feel. Spicy notes, expecially pepper, on the back of things and maybe a slight lemonish note
T- Bold grainy, crisp entrypoint, very lively in the mouth. Bittersweet, with a very nice balance, throughout the whole tasting, with notes of honey along with a persistent herbal feel. Some kind of earthyness is also present. Background notes of pepper and lemon as the smell suggested. Finishes decently dry despite it's complexity and slightly musty feel, leaving you longing for another sip
M- As mentioned, very lively. Quite dense in body along with pretty high carbonation. You can really feel this beer. The 9.5%ABV is perfectly hidden though
O- All the basics of saisons are there, but in a stronger, bolder version, in terms of body, mouthfeel, maybe even complexity. It may feel on the point of being a little too much, but it never really gets over the top. Plain good stuff, worth a plain good 4

A- crazy loud pop as I effortlessly pull out the cork. Upon pouring, my tulip immediately fills with an expansive white foam of uniformly sized bubbles that quickly form a leathery skin on the surface. The head is not moving. It just refuses to go anywhere. I guess I'll just sit here and stare at it. The body itself is a glowing yellow lemony apricot and when the foam finally subsides, the glass is crusted over with delicate lacing accented by thick fingers of leftover foam.
S- the nose is very similar to the vielle but with more emphasis on fruit. Lemon and bitter orange, mango and guava, mild banana and pineapple, clove and cardamom spice. The slightest hint of band aid and barnyard add another layer of yeasty complexity. Nice melon sweetness also along with faint pale malt way in the back.
T- extremely fruity with an elegant balance of sweet tart and bitter. Banana, sweet basil and latex are prominent, with other tropical fruits residing somewhere out the way. It's not funky so to speak, and honestly I would appreciate some of that, but the phenols are alive & kickin and so are the alcohol esters. Alcohol is pineapple and floral like fruit blossoms and I'm sure the hops also have a hand in that with their grassy and flowery citrus bitterness. Tropical tart-sweetness lasts well into the finish, finally giving way to leafy hops and alcohol dryness. I may have forgotten to mention a light base of cracker like malt.
MF- deceitfully light although the alcohol provides a silky body worthy of merit. Bottle conditioned perfection here. Bubbles sting the tongue. Crisp and delightfully dry.
D- an amazing strong saison with more overall character than the weaker versions I've had from DuPont (vielle, avril) although naturally the strength begets less drinkability. An incredible beer and well worth the $11 price tag.
