Hey this is a Wine ingrediant shop that sells a heck of a great amount o beer stuff. Took a trip over there for our last batch. Man this is an ingrediant haven. They have a great selection of liquid and dried Extracts, kits, and a great run of grain. The one detraction may be that if you want to crack it before you leave, you will be cranking it before you leave. Took us 15 minutes to shuck the 10 pounds on the corona mill. She did however come over to show us what we were doing wrong, and adjusted the spacing for us when we went to the Wheat. She definitely knows her stuff, and has been doing this since 1983.
Gave us a good welcome for our first time in. The best LHBS in town so far for personality. Did not tell us what to make, just guided us o what we could use. Nice approach. There is nothing really here for equipment, that is the drawback.

Small homebrew shop, but they carry just about anything that you would need. The owners have been in the business for many years and I think are members of Milwaukee's homebrew club, the Beer Barons. Their experience and extensive knowledge shows in the level of consistent customer service. It's been awhile since I've been in here, but I seem to recall some of the supplies being a little older in stock, while (at the time) newer products were available at other stores around town. Regardless, they still have what you need. I went here with a relative who was interested in getting started in the homebrewing hobby and they were very helpful in setting him up with one of their packaged starter kits. Nice store, nice folk.

This place is where everyone should at least go to once. A little tricky to find if you are not familiar with the area. The shop was clean, organized, and had a little of everything. I talked to the woman, who I assume is the owner and was excited about coming back. She had a charming German accent and knew exactly where everything in the store was. She was very proud that her store has been open for 38 years. The shop is small, but it has what you need. I thought the 6 1/2 gallon carboy fermenting on the counter was a nice touch. Very impressed with the service, not just as a homebrew shop, but as a store period. I wish customer service was like this everywhere.

This is the first homebrew shop in Milwaukee that I have had a totally good experience in.
The shop is small. But it is packed with equipment and supplies. The place literally has everything you could need or want to brew beer or make wine.
The staff was shockingly helpful. After having horrible experiences at other shops in Milwaukee. It was very refreshing to receive knowledgeable, friendly and willing advice and service at the Purple Foot.
It was a real drive for me to go up there. However it was totally worth it. Anytime in the future when my local shop is out of stock with something that I need. I plan on driving North to the Purple Foot.
