This has been and still is my go to spot before shows at the Greek Theater. Been coming here for years. Always reliable like an old friend. Decent beer and food. Easy to get in and out of and a reasonable walk to the Greek.

We went here for lunch and beers. The place is located in a storefront setting in the downtown area along a busy street. Curb parking is all that we saw to park nearby. We chose to sit at a table in a section of the curbside parking spaces at the front. The inside has a long bar with plenty of booths, tables/chairs for seating. A sign on the front of the building mentions that there is also a rooftop deck. The vibe inside was nice, and there is table service (online ordering) at the outdoor seats which worked very well.

We ordered a sampler flight of 5 beers (9 were available) in order to evaluate their offerings. Each was brewed well to its respective style, although I thought the Scottish Ale was just a bit light is color and taste. We gave an overall grade of B-minus to them.

The food was typical pub offerings, and we liked what we ordered. Overall this is a worthy place to visit.

This is a Berkeley institution, and one of the first and longest-lasting brewpubs. Standard fare, beers are all solid if not standouts, and the food selection is decent enough for meat-eaters and vegetarians.

I visited Triple Rock in Berkeley yesterday and I like the place. It reminded me very much of the Big Time brewpub in Seattle -- then I learned that the two places are affiliated! Upon my visit, they had 13 house beers as well as 9 guest taps available. The beers I tried were really quite good; I'd definitely recommend checking out Triple Rock if you're in town. Service was decent enough; I also had lunch which was quite good.

I have known about his place for years but had never been to it as it's a bit of a haul from my residence. After a bad experience at Barclay's, a beer bar across town from Triple Rock and much easier to get to for me, I decided to try it. I wish I had always come here. The extra travel time is well worth it. Food is very very good, tremendous burgers for one. Beer selection is small at times and there is no cask, but they do have the beer engines, just not working right now. The IPA is great and I like the Dragon's Milk which is a reddish ale. I expect all their beers to be solid. Very friendly employee's and we have been treated well all times. So long Barclay's, you have lost us forever. Going to keep coming here where we are not short poured and we are treated in a style befitting regulars that we are fast becoming here. Support this small brewery!

As a beer drinker, this is my favorite place to visit when in Berkeley. Their beers are excellent. Their prices are great. My only complaint is there is never enough room at the bar, so get there early. Their corn beef sandwiches are 'to die for'. I have never had a better sandwich or a bigger sandwich, than those sold here. My son, a Berkeley student, just rented a house around the block so I am looking forward to many visits with him and the Triple Rock.

After reading Erbayd post...I remembered that IPAX was the way to go. Also the bartenders were great....always offering a tasting before a new selection.

An amazing brewery and an awesome place to hang out! In my opinion it's the best place to grab a beer in Berkeley (though Jupiter is a close 2nd). If you like hops you'll love it here, and I highly recommend IPAX as a go-to beer. It's definitely a great example of a West Coast IPA. Pretty frequently they'll brew a special IPA (Greenhorn, Rye Smile, etc.) and those are always really great. They do a great job of offering seasonal specialty beers, and the Reindeer Ale and Keyser Soze Imperial Stout are super tasty and really strong.

Great food to accompany the great beer, and the whole bar has a cozy and welcoming atmosphere to it. If you don't like crowds, don't go on Thursdays as it can get really hectic. However Triple Rock on a Thursday night is an essential experience for anyone in Berkeley. This place is awesome!!
