Brawley's is the best in Charlotte, because their focus is on quality not quantity (though this is also due to a lack of space). Mike is awesome, he's very keen on quality and expiration dates in consideration to beer style. I spent about an hour browsing, talking with him about beer. He had great recommendations and obviously knew his brews, but never showed any sort of arrogance in his character. His wife was also very nice, and the two were very welcoming. So what if there are unopened cases? They contain the same beers that are on the shelves anyhow. It didn't appear messy or careless as far the beer goes, but the left portion of the building is in pre-construction mode to expand for a small bar with running taps + a small patio outside that he'd hoped would be ready before winter. Be sure to check out the walk in fridge in the back for other goodies. This place is definitely worth the visit. Thanks Mike.

Everytime I visit family in Charlotte, I hit Brawley's. This time I couldn't make it, so I sent the wife on a mission with a list.

Owner Mike wasn't offended by a list, and enthusiastically helped her around the place. Great beer selection, and great people. Going there with the right attitude gets you greeted and treated like family. His reputation reaches all the way down here in Tampa, FL. Was at a bottle share with a handful of BAs a week ago wearing my Brawley's shirt, and multiple people commented. If you are in Charlotte, your doing yourself a disservice not checking this place out.

Picked up some local and stuff that doesn't get down to FL: Uinta, Cascade, Foothills, Highland, Mother Earth, Green Man, Olde Hickory, Moylans, Founders.

Thanks Mike for the goods. Hope you like the bottle I sent your way.

Great local spot. Not fancy. Mike (owner) works everyday but Wed and Sun and will match you with what you want. New to craft? He is an unbelievable resource. All FRESH beer--not the TW experience. Fantastic keg selection. Hard to find Belgians. Fresh Sculpin by the register--doesn't last long.

Takes care of the regulars with the super limited stuff but, hey, why not? Become a regular and he shares the love. He is worth the extra $.50 a sixer on service alone but quality can't be beaten. Have NEVER had a bad recommendation.

Soon to expand with a tasting room.

Mike is Charlotte craft beer.

Well, an interesting building from the outside. Inside the atmosphere is more like a record store than a bottle shop. Mixed matched decor all over, a variety of music bumping, different, in a good way. The selection is decent but not great, some singles, mostly 6 packs. Service is friendly and knowledgeable about beer. Their is also a clearence rack with half price beers. I was also given a free copy of beer advocate magazine. Oh hell yeah.Overall a pleasant spot worth checking out.

My first visit to the store this past week. Wow on many levels. Beer all over the floor in boxes made me feel right at home. Many many beers I can't find in my part of the world and all of them as fresh as they can possibly be. Mike and his mom were both there and as friendly and helpful to an-out-of-towner as they could possibly be. Prices were a bit higher than I've seen in other stores, but worth every penny. I will make a point of visiting whenever I am in the area.

This is not a world class beer store, no matter what the homers say.
This store is very unorganized with open cases all over the place, the atmosphere is lacking. It loses points with me for not giving a damn about presentation.
The selection is nothing to write home about, but the prices are fair.
Brawley's is friendly and they stock some nice glassware, but with Salud, Good Bottle, Common Market, and Davidson Beverage Co., it's hard to find a reason to recommend this spot above the others in Charlotte, especially considering they have no taps.

Mike is the nicest an most helpful person in Charlotte. He is always willing to give me suggestions or advice on new beers to try. All around just a great place and with a tasting room in the making I could not imagine spending my money anywhere else in Charlotte.

A true gem. Step in and you'll find a bit of everything from the freshest IPAs/doubles to Belgians to all kinds of really hard to find stuff you may have never heard of. The boxes are piled high because he has usually just landed a stash of something not likely to be around long. FRESH!! 10 day old Sculpin??? One week old Palate Wrecker. If you haven't had it you are missing out.

The best part of the experience is the owner Mike and when he is not there, you usually find his mom or someone who else who knows beer. Mike works hard to find you something you like. Keg beer selection is great. Don't wake up the baby.

Maybe .50 or a $ higher on some stuff but he won't sell old beer. Best customer service in town. Skip the Total Wine big box /maybe old beer experience. There is a reason Mike kicks of Craft Beer Week in Charlotte.

Overall--great service and value.

Went there for the first time yesterday and met the guy working (already forgot his name) but he was very cool and very helpful. Gave me some advice on beers to try (I came for the Hopslam). I have always heard good things and so I went back today (for the Hopslam) and actually met Brawley who seems like a great guy. Encouraged me to come back and try some of their other selections which I intend to do. They seem to get a lof the hard to find craft brews. Definately the place to go in CLT and surrounding area.

Brawley's is the best beer store in Charlotte. Mike is a good guy and is always willing to chat or give advice, etc. His mother (I think) also works there is she is sweet woman who is also always willing to chat/help. They have a good selection of beer but I would like to see a little wider of a selection sometimes. I did find some stuff from CA and the west coast that was hard to find around town. Overall a great place to get beer
