Review #600!
Poured almost-black with a half-finger of dark mocha head. Hot, sweet aroma of chocolate, molasses, dark fruit, and vanilla.
Moderate carbonation and a thick, sticky mouthfeel. Very sweet up front with lots of caramel, molasses, and chocolate with vanilla, light oak, and more dark fruit sweetness on the tail end mixed with hints of roast.
Big and bold, but this needs some time to mellow out a bit. On first impression, I prefer BB XXIII and XXI. Looking forward to my bottle in the basement.

Poured into a Due South Brewing Co. snifter. Label says Best After: 07/23/13.
A- Pours a solidly opaque black color with a 1/2 inch light brown head that retains a bit before soon dropping to a thin ring around the edge of the glass and light swirly surface foam. Resilient lacing trickles down the glass leaving a sheer ring behind it.
S- Sweet and boozy with a surprising minty quality. The dark roasted malt comes in bringing some notes of chocolate, raisin and char. Can't get over how minty this smells.
T- The taste sort of follows suit with the aroma but it's more of a tingle that comes through rather than straight up mint. It's mostly a dark chocolate flavor that's apparent and creates a super smooth drinkability. This is dangerous stuff.
M- There's the aforementioned tingle and a wonderfully soft creaminess that complements it. Medium-low carbonation and a chewy body.
O- I've never had the base beer but can certainly attest to this complex variant.

Bottle: Poured a deep black color stout with a medium dark brown foamy head with good retention and some light lacing. Aroma consists of black chocolate notes with some light liquor notes with some dried fruits notes as well. Taste is also a mix between some dark black chocolate notes with some dried fruits notes and some light liquor notes. Body is about average with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Very nice drink though a bit too much of the dried fruits notes.
