On tap at Deschutes PDX, $4 for .3 liter snifter 7.26.11.
Two finger broken brown head, medium dissipation with decent spider legs and some lacing. Dark brown almost black body, opaque, no visible carbonation due to hue even when held up to sunlight. Nose features a big citrus re grapefruit hit, big dose of roasted malts but not charred. Taste is citrusy until the roast sets in, a bit of chocolate, roasty bitterness, hop sweetness got subsumed by the roast in the finish. Mouthfeel features a creeper lingering bitter finish, a bit sticky. Might benefit from rolling back the roast a bit, otherwise nice. Sorry to be parochial, but this isn't Chaos (or Turmoil for that matter), not even close IMHO. A nice IABA/CDA but not in the running for a medal in this emerging, and increasingly competitive, category.

On tap at Deschutes in Portland Oregon.
A: 1/8" tan coloured head that dissipated quickly and left a nice lacing over black liquid.
S: Floral hops.
T: Floral hops with a malty and yeasty finish. Very nice taste throughout.
M: Medium viscosity with low carbonation.
O: Tasty and interesting, I would drink these quite often if I could.

On tap the the Portland Brewpub.
A - Pours a dark brown with a thin tan head, almost stout like. The head fades to form a small layer on top with larger bubbles on the edges.
S - Very hop forward, some grass and ever slight roasted malt tones.
T - Again very hop forward with pine flavors, Some slight citrus and roasted malt flavors.
D - Good carbonation and medium body.
O - I really enjoyed this, more so than the regular Hop in the Dark. I would buy bottles of this all year long. Try it if you can.
