seemed to a staff favorite at the Bend brewpub
it's not bad - as advertized, an IPA that has flavors resembling fruit juice - orange and grapefruit, to be exact, with a hint of bubblegum rounding it out
yellowish-orange, hazy, sort of "pulpy"-juicy texture on the palate (no joke) - head don't seem to hold, guessing it's unfiltered?
frsh-fruity aromas, refreshing sort of brew, not quite what I expected or hoped for - non-beer drinkers might enjoy it... strange sort of IPA, homebrew quality

Pours a bright gold color, some haze, and a decent white head.
Aromas are very nice. Fresh hoppiness, lots of citrus, some orange peel, grapefruit, lemon, and a touch of resin.
Taste is good, but falls a bit flat after the great nose. Some bitter citrus up front, grapefruit, orange, and lemon zest. Beer then has a faint backdrop of sugary malt flavors. Finish is crisp and clean.
Mouthfeel is crisp and dry, a touch thin though.
Overall, a pretty good beer, but a bit of a let down after I got past the smell.

Poured from tap at Deschutes PDX. Pours a slightly hazy golden/copper hue with average head and average retention.
Good though simple and clear aromatics. Lots of citrus and a fresh and zippy hop note. Very powerful, clean, but simple. No real complexity.
Palate confirms, citrus and hops. Not really much else. It's pleasant enough though.
Texture is very nice, here is where the hops and malts really come together. Good astringency, nice balance, and a good finish.
Overall a very nice but straight to the point IPA featuring Citra hops. Worth a pint just to check it out, but nothing to search out.

A: Had this on tap at Deschutes in PDX. A nice clear orange color, nice head with great lacing.
S: Slight caramel maltiness followed by citrusy hops
T: Sweet maltiness followed by a very noticable but not overpowering citrusy hoppiness
M: Light to medium bodied beer carbonation is great
O: This is a nice beer, not overly hoppy...more like a pale than a lot of IPA's out there, very nicely balanced though. Glad I tried this.

Went to the public house on a beautiful Portland summer evening for BB XXIII. Oooh, Fresh Squeezed is on to. I remember how great that was last year, we should get that too. Wait what? What happened to this beer? Last year it was a citrus delight, this year not so much. Still a beautiful, burnt orange color. The nose has a touch of citrus, but I'm also getting a musty note that is unpleasant. The taste is a bomb. Like dissolved aspirin with a malt backbone. Those aren't citra hops as I know them.

On tap at the OBF yesterday. Definitely one of the hilights of the festival, at least if you're a hophead. The OBF pamphlet indicates this is a single hop IPA, made entirely from Citra hops.
This IPA pours an orange amber color with good head retention and lacing. On the nose... mama mia! This is an incredibly aromatic and skunky IPA. Wow! There is also some dank earth and dirt, but the skunky MJ aroma is nearly overpowering and overwhelming. Flavors replicate the nose to some extent (obviously, the beer does not taste skunky), with just enought sweet malt to buoy the boatload of hoppy bitterness and pine. This is a very flavorful and dry IPA otherwise, with a long, bitter finish. Mouthfeel is medium bodied to full, with the beer showcasing a fairly long, almost mouthpuckeringly bitter finish. Drinkability is pretty good, though the huge, hoppy flavor profile was almost too much of a good thing. Still, it's hard not to be impressed with this totally over the top, in your face IPA. Impressive to see a brewery the size of Deschutes pushing the envelope with a beer like this.
