Poured from bottle to an imperial pint. Best by 12/30/2011. 6.9% ABV, 70 IBU.
A: Thick, frothy cocoa head. Nearly pitch black. Outstanding lacing and nice retention.
S: Piney hops, coffee, and peat.
T: Roasted malt, generous coffee flavor, toffee, chocolate, plum, earthy hops, and a nice bitterness at the finish. Very nice.
M: A bit on the watery side, actually. A nice hops bite and bitterness at the finish. Great flavor but the body is a little lacking in my opinion.
O: A nice black ale. Some of the coffee and fruit characteristics of some stouts, but a generous dose of hops as well.
