Served in Imperial pint glass. Right upfront I'll say that this is the rare beer from Deschutes that I found a bit disappointing. The beer poured a clean, clear yellow with a very thin white head that no retention or lacing.
The aroma was average for the style, earthy grain and crisp hops. The taste was also typical for the style, the flavors just didn't pop the way a good pilsner should.
The body was thicker than usual for the style, and a bit sticky, not qualities you look for here. Drinkabilty was OK, but that sticky heaviness hurts it here.
Again, I'm a bit let down by this beer. Not terrible, but by the standards Deschutes has set for themselves, this is sub-par.

On-tap at the Portland brewpub. Maybe this should be under that listing? Whatever.
This had a great, dry classic pilsner taste with an aroma of bread crust. It's a simple but very tasty with a rich flavor that finished with big, pepery hops. Overall, a great example of the style.
