Bottle: Poured a deep dark reddish color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of oak and tart cherries with light sugar notes. Taste is a complex mix between some oak and tart cherries with light acidic notes and some light notes of residual sugar. Body is slightly above average with great carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Overall, a very solid offering that drinks very well with being quite sour.

This one was a part of cmrillo’s 40 Beers* @ 40 Birthday Bash! Shared by cmrillo at his own party! Served from bottle into a Mikkeller taster flute. Poured a dark reddish brown with a half finger off-white head that subsided to a minimal amount quickly. Maintained nice lacing throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, caramel, dark fruit, peat, and wood. The flavor was of sweet malt, caramel, fruit, peat, wood, and sweet alcohol. It had a medium feel on the palate with medium carbonation. Overall this was a good brew. I never knew that this one existed if I am honest as I have heard of all the Mikkeller Beer Geek stuff, but never this. I don’t know why as this was quite a good brew. There was a definite peat character going on that blended quite well with everything else going on here. Also, the fruit notes were quite nice and mixed in with a brew I normally wouldn’t think that they would. Well done on this one and really glad I got the chance to try it.

Pours a deep red to black in color with a small off white head. In the aroma, cherry and notes of whiskey. In the taste, dark cherry, a small roast, and a nice whiskey end. A small sour like bite and a medium bodied mouthfeel, with a small dry cherry and dry whiskey in the aftertaste. Tart cherry with a whiskey hint, hides the ABV. This was made for the wedding of the brewer's friend, I was just lucky enough to have tried one of the bottles that he kept around.
